'The Voice' Season 19: Fans love Eli Zamora's performance despite not understanding what he was singing
The contestants who appear on 'The Voice' are without a doubt incredibly talented. So, when it was time for blind auditions, the coaches on the show -- Blake Shelton, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Gwen Stefani -- were looking forward to meeting some of the incredible talents and woo them to join their team. When Eli Zamora, a gondolier from Las Vegas stepped on the stage, the judges had no idea that what they were in for.
Eli soon began singing a soulful Spanish song, which Kelly claimed moved her to tears. The other coaches also enjoyed his stunning performance. Despite his breathtaking performance, he managed to get a chair turn only from Kelly. But luckily for him, Kelly was so hyped by the Texas native's talent that she couldn't stop showering him with praises. Eli happily accepted the invitation to join Kelly's team and expressed his joy in getting an opportunity to be coached by her.
In his introduction video, Eli revealed how immediately after his birth everybody knew that he had a very high pitch tenor. He had been singing all his life and loves his job of being a gondolier, through which he gets to sing to the tourists visiting Vegas while boating. He also talked about how his parents moved from Mexico to the USA when he was very young to ensure he got access to a better life. Eli pointed out how when he first moved to the USA he couldn't speak any English, but he learned it slowly by listening to songs and music.

Just like Kelly, fans too couldn't get enough of Eli's soothing voice and poise. A fan tweeted, "Eli Zamora singing sexy in Spanish. Those low tones have gruff and passion. Solid midrange. He is dramatic and killing the dynamics. I don’t understand but I do. Love is universal. Kelly Clarkson picks him up #TheVoice #VoicePremiere." Several fans commented on how Eli managed to move them with his performance despite not understanding a word of what he was singing. A fan wrote, "I don't understand not one word that he is singing, but Eli's voice is beautiful! #TheVoice #VoicePremiere." "No idea what Eli was singing about but boy he can sing #TheVoice #VoiceBlinds #VoicePremiere," expressed another fan.
