'The Voice' Season 19: Tamara Jade wins knockout round against Casme and fans call her the 'perfect choice'
Right from day 1, Tamara Jade captured everybody's attention with her impeccable vocals and larger than life personality during her performance on 'The Voice'. After successfully managing to gain four chair turns during the blind auditions and crushing the battles round, the talented contestant made her way to the much-awaited knockout round.
For the knockout round, Tamara was pitted against fellow contestant Casme. Just like Tamara, Casme too managed to wow all the coaches with her brilliant talent. Calling the competition between these two talented ladies intense would be a huge understatement. Casme picked Miley Cyrus's 'Wrecking Ball' for her knockout round performance, while Tamara went with 'Higher Ground'. Tamara revealed that she saw Usher perform the song live during Barack Obama's Presidential inauguration event and felt that it resonated strongly during these trying times.
She explained how her mother who is a teacher was having a very hard time during the pandemic due to online teaching. Both gave an extremely beautiful performance during the knockout round. The coaches however felt that Casme ended way stronger than what she began with, while Tamara had a 'death grip' on her song throughout the performance. So, the coaches were leaning heavily on Tamara's side when it came to picking their winner. John Legend too agreed with them and picked Tamara as the winner of the knockout round. He explained how Tamara's passion and stage presence made her performance a delightful experience to watch.
