Carter Rubin, who has shown exceptional singing skills right from the very beginning of ‘The Voice’ Season 19, has been crowned as the winner of the singing reality show. The 15-year-old from Team Gwen Stefani lifted the trophy after beating trained singers like Jim Ranger, Desz, Ian Flanigan and John Holiday.

Jim Ranger from Team Blake Shelton was the runner-up of the show whereas, Ian from the same team secured third place. Desz from Team Kelly Clarkson grabbed the fourth spot whereas, John Holiday from John Legend’s team took last spot. This is only the second time when a contestant this young has won the show. The last happened in Season 14 when 15-year-old Brynn Cartelli from Kelly’s team was named as the winner of the reality series. Also, this is Stefani’s very first win as a coach after being part of the show in seasons seven, nine, 12, 17, and 19.

Speaking to Carter right before he was announced as the winner of Season 19, Stefani said that she was really proud of him and she always wanted to work with young artists adding that Carter is only 15-years-old and still has a long way to go in his life. Stefani has been a super proud coach from the day she picked Carter in her team. The New York resident showed some extraordinary skills on ‘The Voice’ Season 19 at such a young age. Carter grew up in a musical family and was inspired by his grandfather, a guitarist and backup vocalist for Jay and the Americans. The young lad has always been open about his elder brother, Jack, who has autism. He performs in his school’s musicals and various community events including the foundations concerned with autism. The judges and the Internet loved him and he surely deserved to win.

The finale also saw performances from music heavyweights namely Dan+Shay, Lauren Daigle, Keith Urban, Pink, Lewis Capaldi, Florida Georgia Line, Nelly, Jason Derulo, 24K Golden, Iann Dior, Julia Michaels, and JP Saxe will also perform at the season finale. Also, we will see Nick Jonas returning as a judge on NBC’s ‘The Voice’ in Season 20 replacing Stefani. The American crooner earlier sat on the big red chair in Season 18.
