LEWES, SUSSEX: The revenue for The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge surged from £6.7 million ($8.1 million) in 2019 to £20.4 million ($24.9 million) in 2021. The surge in revenue came after Meghan and Harry left the charity in September 2019 and later set up their own Archewell Foundation. In comparison, the Sussexes foundation reportedly got under $50,000 in "gross receipts" in 2020, as per the US Internal Revenue Service.

Harry and Meghan Markle had officially changed the name of their 'Sussex Royal' brand to the MWX Foundation in August 2020. The pair had also agreed to stop using the word “royal” in their branding after stepping down as senior royals. After the split, the financial lift for the Cambridges' Foundation permitted it to practically twofold its charitable expenditure to £16.4m ($20 million). Of this, 3/4th was spent on their environmental awards The Earthshot Prize, which gave out five £1m awards to the winners.

But even as they cement their place in people's hearts with their charity work, Kate and William seem to be taking a step back from the public eye. After much speculation, it is now confirmed that Prince William and Kate Middleton are going to Windsor. The royal couple and their three youngsters — Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4 — are purportedly moving to Adelaide Cottage to be nearer to Queen Elizabeth II, and cultivating a different kind of royal commitment that does not subject them to constant scrutiny. The Cambridges' change in residence closely relates to their desire for some privacy. Royal insider Ingrid Seward said, "I think Wills and Kate need space to bring up their children. Kensington Palace is a glorious prison for kids — they want to be able to play football without being watched from behind the gates. I think Windsor will be perfect for them, as they will have lots of freedom and they can all be at school together."

As of not long ago, William and Kate have divided their time between their authority workplaces at Kensington Palace and the family's country-style house at Amner Hall. Adelaide Cottage, it appears, will offer the couple and their kids the best of both. However, this move after a year of speculation may also bring in a new beginning to the existing monarchy.
