Spoiler alert for ‘The Outsider’

Episode 6 of King's adaption, 'The Outsider' titled, 'The One About the Yiddish Vampire' sees Holly Gibney (Cynthia Erivo) uncover El Cuco as the suspect behind the child murders.

It presented three cases in which the accused are now not only dead but had airtight alibis, alluding to the fact that maybe a doppelganger has been committing the murders.

If you've watched the episodes that have been aired, you understand by now how El Cuco, the "malevolent force" feeds on the grief of its victims. Fans uncovered its antics today with Gibney, and it's safe to say that the boogeyman might not just be in nightmares.

"#Theoutsider Never going to fall asleep," tweeted one fan, and we agree as Gibney finds that the creature is able to shapeshift and steal DNA, framing people for the crime and then feeding off the grief of its victims.

The old folklore told to kids to make sure they do their homework and eat their veggies has surfaced from under beds.

"Loooved the latest #TheOutsider! Although I did not grow up with El Cuco myself, Mum can confirm it was used to instill fear in her as a child," tweeted another fan with another tweeting, "#TheOutsider always keeps me up at night."

In the series, Officer Jack Hoskins (Marc Menchaca) and  Tracey Powell (Drez Ryan), a suspect in the case, both showcase an awful blustering rash on their necks.

This means that El Cuco is able to control them in some sort of way, having them do his dirty work. "I'm getting poison ivy PTSD from looking at the back of these necks. #TheOutsider," tweeted a grossed out fan.

At the end of the episode, Hoskins seems to be on his way to kill Gibney and we have to wait for the next episode to find out if he succeeds. "That entity messed Jack up! He looks horrible! Is he trying to lure her to the barn and hurt her? Holly knows something isn't right. #TheOutsiderHBO #TheOutsider," tweeted another fan.

This episode had given more details on El Cuco and even though it was slow, had fans glued to their seat. "That was an outstanding episode of #TheOutsider tonight. It really turned up the dial on the slow burn of the intensity. Can’t wait for next week’s episode," tweeted an excited fan.

The series is more than halfway done and had made quite some noise with its narrative, direction, and delivery.

‘The Outsider’ airs on Sundays at 9 pm EST (8 pm CST) on HBO.
