'The Mandalorian' Season 2: Say hello to Grogu! Baby Yoda's real name is finally revealed in 'The Jedi'
This article contains spoilers for 'The Jedi'
After a complete season and a year of the world knowing him as Baby Yoda, the 50-year-old cute little force-wielder has a name: Grogu. The name was revealed by Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson) in the episode 'The Jedi' after Mando/Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) finally encounters the famed Padawan warrior. It does seem like Grogu has had quite the journey before being found by Mando. Tano reveals his past where he was raised at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. At the end of the Clone Wars when the Empire rose to power, he was hidden, and somehow was kidnapped.
Survival instinct took over and he went into a shell. While now we know quite a bit about the green imp who we feel will always be called Baby Yoda, it was absolute pandemonium on Twitter as fans were all celebrating the name drop. One wrote: "I loved Baby Yoda memes, but they must go now. He is Grogu. That's his name. #TheMandalorian #StarWars #BabyYoda #grogu".

"#BabyYoda Name is #Grogu!!! This series just keeps on getting better and better!!!" read one of the tweets. "The sheer masterpiece that Dave Filoni just graced all Star Wars fans with, is absolutely amazing and universe-shattering, but the way that Grogu reacts to hearing his own name is no doubt the best part of that episode. #TheMandalorian #AhsokaTano," wrote one of the fans

"As someone who thinks that his first ep is okay, and his second is absolutely awful. This one was incredible in comparison, definitely his best. I definitely wanted more than it was ever going to be. But I still think its a solid episode. Nothing stands out as bad to me," opined a fan. "The Child’s name has been revealed! Grogu! He was a youngling at the Jedi Temple and is a survivor of Order 66!"

"Fam - Bo Katan and Ahsoka Tano appearing in #TheMandalorian make the show an absolute FINE WINE for #CloneWars and Rebels fans. Legit setup for two spin-offs that would keep me a member of @disneyplus for years!" "Ahsoka in lube action was great. But man, the way Grogu lit up when he heard Din Djarin say his name for the first time. That was a moment," read a tweet.

Some felt Tano was still the best person to train the tot. "It really felt like she was just thrown in to kickstart a spinoff about her searching for Thrawn and Ezra, especially since she wouldn’t train Grogu, even though she would be the best one to train him," read a tweet. "This is the way. @rosariodawson NAILED Ahsoka PERFECTLY!!!!@dave_filoni THANK YOU! THANK YOU!! You did a WONDERFUL job!!! Grogu maybe his name but he will always be Baby Yoda to me. #Mandalorian," said a fan. "HIS NAME IS GROGU AND HE HAS FEAR AND ANGER" went a tweet.
