'The Little Things': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about HBO Max serial killer thriller

Dropping soon, this one's a treat for fans of true crime who like to take the edge off with fictional reenactments on the screen. If you love a good detective thriller and harbor a disturbing obsession with society's most notorious killers, this film's Charles Manson-esque avatar of Jared Leto might be the one for you. Plot:
According to the official synopsis of the film, "Deputy Sheriff Joe 'Deke' Deacon joins forces with Sgt. Jim Baxter to search for a serial killer who's terrorizing Los Angeles. As they track the culprit, Baxter is unaware that the investigation is dredging up echoes of Deke's past, uncovering disturbing secrets that could threaten more than his case."

The acclaimed Denzel Washington stars in the film as Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe "Deke" Deacon. He is joined by Academy Award-winning actors Rami Malek as L.A. Sheriff Department Sergeant Jim "Jimmy" Baxter, and Jared Leto as the strange Albert Sparma - who is the suspected killer. The film also stars Natalie Morales, Terry Kinney as Captain Farris, Chris Bauer as Sal Rizoli, Joris Jarsky as Detective Rogers, Isabel Arraiza as Anna Baxter, Michael Hyatt as Flo Dunigan, Sofia Vassilieva as Tina Salvatore, Jason James Richter as Detective Dennis Williams, Kerry O'Malley as Mrs. Roberts, Sheila Houlahan, and John Harlan Kim.
