Spoiler Alert for 'The House of Flowers' Season 3

'The House of Flowers'/'La Casa de las Flores' on Netflix was a sensational show right from its first season. The Mexican drama followed the trials and tribulations of the de la Mora family, more often funny than not, after the family patriarch's mistress commits suicide.

It's a dark event to start with, but it is what unleashes everything that comes later. The first season explores the dysfunctional dynamics between Ernesto and his family — wife Virginia, adult children Paulina, Elena, and Julian. Virginia is the leading face of 'The House of Flowers', the family’s prestigious flower business. Ernesto's mistress Roberta, who also narrates the show, was helping Ernesto run his side business, a drag cabaret also named 'The House of Flowers'.

When Paulina, the eldest de la Mora sibling, separated from Maria Jose, her ex-husband, who transitioned to a woman, returns with her teenage son while Elena returns with her American boyfriend Dominique.

In Season 2, after Virginia dies, her children go their separate ways. But they reunite to honor their mother and get revenge on Diego, their former accountant who stole money from the family at the end of Season 1. However, things again do not go as planned.

Season 3 of 'The House of Flowers' takes things up a notch as it picks up from where we left off. Paulina is in jail and Elena is in a coma — and for now, it seems it is just Julian who has things sorted out. With the de la Mora siblings calling a truce with Diego, Julian and Diego are dating again, however, this time they do so openly.

Paulina has made a few enemies along the way and while she fears for her life in prison, she is hoping her former husband Maria Jose would help her get out. Unfortunately, Maria Jose's sister has other plans that threaten to keep Paulina in jail.

Meanwhile, Elena is still the cause of a lot of drama — despite being unconscious through the two episodes of Season 3 we received for review purposes. It turns out that Elena is pregnant which leads to Julian and Diego going on a search to figure out who the father of her child is. Funnily enough, it is Diego's child — Elena was artificially inseminated on Diego's request because he wanted a child with Julian.

But it is not just the hijinks of the de la Mora siblings and those around them that the viewers will be treated to this time around. Many fans missed the de la Mora matriarch Virginia's presence on screen after her character was killed off. Season 3 treats us to flashbacks of when Virginia was younger and all we can say is, her kids are nothing compared to the OG de la Mora troublemaker.

The third season is a bit slow to start off, but the pace soon picks up in the second episode. The flashbacks are fun to watch and we may even have to petition Netflix for a spinoff featuring young Virginia and her friends.

Season 3 of 'The House of Flowers'/'La Casa de las Flores' is now streaming on Netflix.
