'The Good Place' Finale: Fans are in a sad place now, thank the show for the perfect ending

There have been a lot of disappointing series finales that left the fans feeling so unsatisfied that it retroactively sours how much they enjoyed the show overall. 'The Good Place' series finale was not one of them. Fans were left bidding tearful farewells to a forking finale and through all the fan reactions, the word "perfect" comes up, again, and again.
"#TheGoodPlace finale is a master class on TV. The perfect ending to every story. The perfect mix of laughter and tears. The perfect commentary on life. People are going to be rewatching, quoting and learning from this show forever. It knew exactly how and when to say goodbye," wrote one fan, on Twitter. "Not sure you can end a TV show any better than #TheGoodPlace. Just a funny, beautiful show that was so unlike anything else," wrote another.
There were definitely no complaints about the show's extra length clocking the finale in at 73 minutes. "In addition to making me cry for pretty much 73 minutes straight, I think #TheGoodPlace might have just pulled off a perfect series start to finish. A beautiful finale to a beautiful show," tweeted a fan.
"I was sad when #TheGoodPlace announced this would be its final season. But wow. An incredible season and show capped by quite possibly the best series finale of all time. I can't explain the emotions I'm feeling, but I like them. #TakeItSleazy," wrote this tweet, tagging Michael's (Ted Danson) final words and heartfelt farewell on the show.
The episode brought peace to many people in its gentle manner of saying goodbye. "The air in my lungs felt like the air outside of my body in this moment," said one fan, quoting Jason's (Manny Jacinto) feelings when he was ready to say his final goodbye.
"That was a really beautiful finale for a truly wonderful show. I’m crying but I also feel at peace. This is the sad place (for now), but it’s also the good place," wrote a fan. It's a sad place for a lot of the fandom, but it would appear that there was no better way for the show to say goodbye.
