'The Golden Bachelor' fans rejoice as Gerry Turner sends Kathy Swarts home after fight with Theresa Nist

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Gerry Turner is ready to take his connections to the next level after an emotional and somewhat difficult week as his journey on 'The Golden Bachelor' approaches the halfway mark.

Kathy Swarts was sent home just a few weeks before hometowns after an altercation with Theresa Nist, and fans couldn't be happier.

During the October 19 episode of 'The Golden Bachelor', Gerry doesn't offer roses to Kathy Swarts and April Kirkwood.

Kathy was "not feeling very confident" heading into the rose ceremony and made another dire prediction, "Gerry and I had a rough conversation after the pickleball tournament, and I could be going home tonight," she remarked.

"So I am nervous. Who wouldn’t be nervous? It’s all on the line here tonight," Kathy said. 

Gerry finally gave Theresa his final rose, promising to lead Kathy out. "I’m really sad to say goodbye, but I have to face the reality he’s made stronger connections with some of the other women," she remarked as they parted ways.

Kathy reportedly joked that she "might burn the house down" before leaving for good since "rejection's not fun."

“I am who I am, and people either like me or they don’t,” she added. “But, I mean, look at this. Who can say no to this?” Kathy said. 

Kathy offers Gerry a hug as her chance at love ends, and he tells her, "I hope you find your guy and true love." Kathy wishes the same for him.

On X, fans wrote, "Kathy going home after that pity rose last week is sweet justice for Edith and Teresa."

Another fan chimed in, "There was never any chemistry with Kathy and Gerry. Surprised she wasn't sent home night one."

One fan quipped, "Send Kathy to Paradise to advise the younger women! I want to see her talking shit in a kaftan on a palapa!"

A fan wrote, "I think Gerry made the right choice. Had to send Kathy home. Too much negativity and drama with her."

You'd be mistaken if you assumed last week's drama was all water under the bridge. While the women are talking with Trista Sutter, she tells them that if they stay true to themselves, the process can work.

Unsurprisingly, Theresa seizes the chance to tell Trista how much she agrees with the idea, especially because she recently went on her first one-on-one date with Gerry.

This irritates Kathy, who laments in confession that Theresa can't "seem to find the off button."

Things between Kathy and Theresa heated up again at the cocktail party. Theresa approaches Kathy and asks if everything is well, but Kathy replies that she still doesn't believe Theresa understands how to keep her mouth shut.

Although Theresa says she isn't bringing up her relationship with Gerry maliciously, Kathy advises her to "zip it."

Theresa brings up the topic with Gerry, and her bad choice of words comes back to bite her.

She argues once more that she intended no harm and that she was confiding in Kathy as a friend. Gerry is offended by the concept that someone is being rude, so he seeks out Kathy for their own chat.

He recalls giving Kathy special attention the night of her dispute with Theresa, when he presented her with a rose before the ceremony to make her feel more comfortable.

Kathy is more unhappy with Teresa at the end of the talk than with anybody else.

Where is Kathy Swarts now after 'The Golden Bachelor'?

Kathy has been spending time with friends and family in Austin, Texas, where she resides, as well as in California, since the conclusion of 'The Golden Bachelor' in late August.

"Back in the day when acting grown up was the goal, people would demand that I act my age, not my shoe size," she said in the caption for a post shared on August 31 that announced her casting.

"Turns out I’m still not fulfilling others’ expectations—mostly because I have my own and they fit me just fine," she said.

Kathy continues to play pickleball and maintains relationships with her Golden Bachelor ASKN "besties," who include April Kirkwood, Susan Noles, and Nancy Hulkower, despite her voyage on the ABC ending.

Kathy remarked in an October 7 Instagram caption that she and Susan look like Kris and Caitlyn Jenner.

"We became great pals during filming," Kathy said. "We are friends and we love being golden!"

'The Golden Bachelor' airs on Thursdays on ABC at 8 pm ET.
