Jazzy music, slick dialogues and cool fighting scenes — that's all fans can think of, after seeing the latest episode of 'The Flash'. Sue Dearbon made her much-awaited appearance and did not disappoint.

For the unversed, Sue Dearbon ends up becoming Sue Dibny in the comics. And then she's killed off in a tragic turn of events.

In the show, Ralph, who had been investigating Sue's whereabouts since the end of Season 5, is rather stunned when he finds her.

He wants to know what's been going on with her, and she has a very strange story to tell. She reveals that she fell in love with a murderer, and now she's determined to track him down and ensure that he pays for his crimes. The guy's name is John Loring.

This rings a rather unpleasant bell for comic book readers. Jean Loring from the comics — has been gender-swapped for John Loring. In the comics, Jean Loring is the brilliant lawyer and wife of Ray Palmer or The Atom and was Ralph and Sue's friend.

She is a tortured soul and has a history that's been brushed by mental instability. In the comic 'The Atom And Hawkman', Loring is pushed to insanity due to radiation after a visit to the subatomic world. Though her stability is restored for several years, she seems to have several tragic arcs, including being lost in another dimension.

However, in 'Identity Crisis', Loring suffers a mental breakdown and wants to bring Ray back to her. She takes his suit, shrinks down and enters Sue's brain.

The plan is to just cause a minor stroke to Sue, but she ends up killing her instead. This storyline was considered rather controversial back in 2004.

With the latest developments in the DC show, 'The Flash', the writers have twisted the events around and subverted the gender. John is not actually after Sue, instead, she's trying to steal from him.

This is just another take on the character of Jean Loring. In 'Arrow', Jean appeared as a family lawyer.

'The Flash' airs on The CW on Tuesdays at 8 pm.
