Brendan Morais self-eliminated himself on Monday night's episode of 'The Bachelorette'. Tayshia Adams was completely heartbroken as he made this decision. The only reason she let him go was that she'd fought for a relationship in the past and didn't want to do the same yet again. Secondly, she told him that she could have happily picked him and given him the final rose and eventually end up being engaged to him but she didn't know what to tell Brendan after he came clean about not being ready for the commitment.

This conversation happened right before they could've ended up at the fantasy suite date. Brendan was the last one to be picked for the same and his insecurities went through the roof right after Tayshia sent the first card inviting Ivan to spend a day and night with her. He said it's a strange thought to wrap his head around that the woman that he liked was about to have an experience with another man and that was troubling him. When it was time for his date, he admitted to be full of nerves and was anxious. Brendan was earlier married to his childhood sweetheart but the marriage had recently ended, just before he decided to come on the show.

When he met Tayshia for his date, she told him that he's going to meet the most important man who he really needs to know. The man in question was Neil Lane, the one who designs the engagement rings for the 'Bachelor' franchise and its spinoff shows. Looking at all those rings, Brendan said it felt like a "huge and scary" step. The endearing smile that he flashed whenever he was around or with Tayshia was wiped clean off his face and all one could see was dilemma and nervousness.

Even before he left for this date from his room, he'd said in a confessional that the next engagement and next marriage is a big deal for him. He'd been in this position before and he knew that if he decides to do it for the second time, he's going to stay married to the person for life. He was constantly battling the question, "Am I ready to give Tayshia that commitment of forever?"

While picking up jewelry and looking at engagement rings with Neil, Tayshia had noticed that there was a "disconnect" between her and Brendan. When they got back together in the evening, she asked him if there was something he wanted to tell her. Brendan opened up to her saying that even though he envisions her as the mother of his children, he's been having a challenging time making sense of his feelings.

Brendan said he was ready to move ahead in life when he came on the show and even though he wants a wife, children and a family more than anything in the world, "there's a big part of me that is still broken". He said he still needed time to heal, time to grow and time to pick up the pieces of himself because he aims to give her his whole heart. "As I sit here my heart is not whole and it breaks my heart. You deserve a man who is healed from his past and unfortunately, right now I am not this man. I am so sorry."

Fans think that the producers set him up to make this decision because he was already nervous when this whole fantasy suite week began. They say that Brendan was dealt a poor hand. While Ivan and Zac were sent to do super romantic and fun activities with Tayshia, Brendan was sent on a "non-date" looking at engagement rings, eventually leading to him deciding to leave.

"The producers did Brendan so wrong with this engagement ring date. Someone pls save him #TheBachelorette," wrote a fan. "They’re wrong for giving Brendan this date. That would freak anyone out. #TheBachelorette," tweeted another. "Brendan is going to implode. He’s terrified of getting it wrong again and he’s on a date looking at RINGS?! He’s going to lose it #TheBachelorette," read another tweet. "The producers giving Brendan a Neil Lane date knowing his scared of proposing they are so wrong #TheBachelorette," wrote another fan. "#TheBachelorette producers are HELLA wrong for making Tayshia and Brendan go on this awful non-date," another tweet read.
