'The Bachelor' Finale: Barbara manipulates Peter by shaming Madison, fans say she is as 'immature as her son'
Could Peter's mom Barbara Weber be the villain of 'The Bachelor' this season? While that's a debatable topic, Barb is now facing backlash from fans who are calling her immature, after seeing her behavior and reactions on the live finale.
'The Bachelor' Season 24 aired with Part 2 of the two-night live finale on Tuesday night, and finally, we got to see who Peter ended up with. We also saw two women, Hannah Ann and Madison stand up for themselves on live national television which fans have been raving about the whole time.
But that aside, we also got to see Barb's overly dramatic expressions and reactions towards Madison each time she appeared on the screen and when she was sitting beside Peter in front of the live studio audience. Barb also tried to manipulate Peter by sharing why she doesn't want him to be with Madison.
When Chris Harrison asked Barb if her decision had changed, and why she doesn't like Madison, she said, "The show last night, it didn't show everything. The next day, we met Madison, and it started on a rocky road because she had us wait three hours to come in... she didn't want to meet us."
"When she did come in... we didn't get an apology from her, and when I proceeded to ask her if she was madly in love with my son, she said no and she would not accept a proposal in four days, as a mother, that wasn't what we were expecting," she added.
"When I said I wanted Hannah Ann so badly, it was because... we just clicked right away. We did not have that connection with Madison," Barbara concluded.
But that wasn't all. When Harrison asked Peter's father what he has to say about Peter and Madison's relationship, Barb whispered to her husband in Spanish saying, "Dile algo mal tambien ayudame." When translated it means, "Say something bad too. Help me."
Watching her behavior towards Madison and how she shamed her, fans call Barb immature. Taking to Twitter a fan wrote, "MADI DESERVES BETTER!!! Barb is the worst. She is so immature. Madi is a class act. I feel so bad for Madi and Peter, they got the monster in law on their hands."
"I understand thinking someone is not a good fit for your child, but Barb is unhinged. She DESPISES Madi. This is who he wants to be with. How is this behavior as a parent helping? She’s acting just as immature as her son has season," a fan shared.
Another said, "Barb was way out of line tbh...shocked at a grown woman being so hateful and acting so immature... #TheBachelor."
"How on earth do some ppl actually like Barb....HOW... she is toxic, immature, psychotic & manipulative. Ur son is 28 years old!!!!!!! U don’t get to pick who he loves," a fan wrote.
Another added, "Madison held her composure & said she refused to bad mouth any person & didn’t want to dwell on the past. Barb used any tactic possible to tear Madison down & to manipulate Peter. She was vile and immature bc she didn’t get her way."
"I have never seen ANYBODY act as bitter, selfish, awful, immature as the way Barb did on NATIONAL TV. This lady was really MAD at her son for going after the girl he loves and did her best to embarrass them. QUIT HATIN BABY #TheBachelor," a fan said.
One fan wrote, "To be clear, yes, I think Barb is too involved. Yes, she came off as childish & immature. I also think Madi handled herself with as much class as possible while sitting there & taking the harsh words from Barb. But no. I don't think this relationship will last. #TheBachelor."
"Barb tonight acted way more immature, petty, and cringey than any of the girls this entire season #TheBachelor," a fan shared.
