Libby Hatch (Rosy McEwen) is the force of evil that no one knew they would have to reckon with in 'The Alienist: Angel Of Darkness'. Initially coming across as an innocent and harmless nurse, we saw Libby turning downright sinister by the end of Episode 5. She is behind the kidnappings and child murders that Sara Howard (Dakota Fanning), John Moore (Luke Evans) and Lazlo Kreizler (Daniel Bruhl) have been investigating for a while now. And somehow, Libby has managed to escape their clutches each and every time. Sara cornered her, but she fled.

Libby is becoming more deranged and Moore's soon to be father-in-law's recent acts might have just endangered them all, leading to a compelling finale. In Episode 7, Sara, John and Kreizler uncover Libby's dark past and find out about her daughter, Clara. They meet Libby's mother too, who has her own tale to tell about her daughter. The grandmother and granddaughter are reunited, but Hurst double-crosses the team and publishes the reunion in papers. Libby sees this and goes on the warpath. At the end of the episode, she corners Sara with a revolver she hijacked from Hurst's men.

The synopsis for the finale promises to be a thrilling one. It reads, "While Sara Moore and Kreizler struggle with decisions about their future paths, New York is in the grips of an all-out manhunt for the killer; the team must overcome the wrath of the police and an underworld gang to save innocent lives."

There's a lot at stake, at the moment, including John's marriage with Violet. Hurst is less than pleased about John's closeness with Sara, and made it amply clear. Sara and John finally shared the much-hoped-for intimate moment fans had been waiting for but she has trouble accepting her feelings for him, leading him to make a difficult choice.

In Episode 7, the two share a heartbreaking phone call as they try to solve the mess of their own feelings. Personal dramas have mingled with the case of the child-murderer and things are getting out of hand. Will Libby finally be caught in the finale? And will John and Sara reunite? Catch 'The Alienist: Angel Of Darkness'  Episode 8 on Sunday, August 9, at 10 pm on TNT.
