LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' Episode 8 aired on Disney+ on July 16, 2024. The final episode of the show featured a jaw-dropping moment that caught the eye of 'Star Wars' fans.

As the episode heads towards its closure ending an epic season filled with twists and turns, we see Master Sol (Lee Jung-jae), and Qimir (Manny Jacinto) engaged in a high-octane lightsaber battle which Master Sol ultimately wins.

Mae (Amandla Stenberg) however enters the fray and confronts Master Sol about his past where he destroyed the coven and killed her mother. When he finally admits to killing Mother Aniseya (Jodie-Turner Smith), Osha overhears the conversation.

Why did Osha's Lightsaber turn red?

Osha and Master Sol's relationship has been explored in-depth in the show. Osha had a dream of becoming a Jedi and Master Sol too felt a connection to Osha and her ambition.

The show also highlights Osha's immense potential and Force sensitivity, which enable her to accomplish extraordinary feats. Despite this, the constraints of the Jedi Order and her rigorous training keep her from true freedom, forcing her to keep her emotions in check.

She is vulnerable though, and feels emotions like anger, and grief. Qimir exposes that side of Osha in the sixth episode and proves to her that she will be more powerful with her emotions.

Osha is reluctant to listen to Qimir until she hears Sol confess to her mother's killing. Master Sol tries to reason with her but she doesn't want to listen. At that moment, we see the lightsaber color change as Osha's hatred changes the blue out of the kyber crystal to red signaling a shift to the Dark Side for her.

This is the first time a lightsaber has been depicted in such a way in a live-action show and she then proceeds to kill Sol without the lightsaber by using the Force choke.

Who will be Qimir's pupil in 'The Acolyte'?

Qimir has been adamant about training Osha in the last couple of episodes and after killing Sol, Osha finally agrees to be Qimir's pupil. They escape to the unknown planet.

In their final scene together, they are holding hands at the unknown planet and holding a lightsaber possibly indicating a couple of plotlines for the second season.

Not only do we expect Qimir to train Osha, but we might also see a romantic relationship develop between the two in the time to come.
