Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn were only 'on a break' but actor allegedly 'leaked' news saying they had split
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Taylor Swift is reportedly accusing Joe Alwyn of disclosing the news of their apparent breakup. Though none of the stars have officially confirmed yet if they are not together anymore, there were speculations that they’ve decided not to be in a relationship anymore.
An insider spilled the tea during an episode of the ‘Deux/U’ podcast while referring to ‘The Eras Tour’. “Joe's been getting more and more withdrawn leading up to the start of the tour and the start of his going off to film. It's been bumpy in the lead-up to the tour so then Taylor brought it up to a head and was like, 'do we need to address this?'”

Alwyn ‘seemed okay with distance and space’
But the 32-year-old actor reportedly told the ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ singer that “they take a break and call this tour a chance for a breather and to reassess and see where things stand at the end of it.” The source noted that Swift “was fine with it” as she believed “he'd miss her like crazy and they'd be back together again eventually.”
However, things did not turn out the way she was allegedly hoping as “he not only seemed okay with the distance and space, but she absolutely thinks he's the one who leaked the news,” the tipster added.
‘They weren't completely right for one another’
The ‘You Belong With Me’ singer was dating Alwyn for around six years. But earlier this month, a source reportedly said, “The relationship had just run its course. It's why [Joe] hasn't been spotted at any shows.” Besides, another insider told Entertainment Tonight on April 11, “Taylor and Joe are in totally different places in their lives right now. It was more of Taylor's decision to break up, but both of them realized that they weren't completely right for one another.”
“They had been together for such a long time and were spending so much time together, but their personalities were just too different. Joe is more introverted, shy, and quiet,” the source continued.
They added, “She's very focused on touring and her career right now. Taylor has nothing but respect for Joe and really loved and enjoyed all the time and memories she shared with him. They had a deep connection and she really appreciated that. She hopes they can be friendly in the future.”
‘A lot has happened is an understatement’
Meanwhile, it seems Swift has been dropping hints about her apparent split from Alwyn during her musical tour. On Thursday night, April 13, she told the crowd in Tampa, “Is it just me or do we have a lot of things to catch up on? It's been a really long time since I've been on tour. And to say that a lot has happened is an understatement.”
Also at her concert in Arlington, Texas, she sang ‘The 1’ instead of the planned love song ‘Invisible String’. Addressing the audience, the songwriter added, “One thing we said about the Eras Tour, ‘You think you can just go online, you think you can just scroll and know the setlist? You think you can just come prepared?’ Let it be said about the Eras Tour: we're tricksy. That's what we are. We enjoy a good, healthy setlist hijinks.”
