Swift has beaten Twain's record of 97 weeks but Garth Brooks still maintains an all-time record of 169 weeks at number one. Following these legends, Billboard revealed Alabama, the band holds second place overall as it stayed at the top for 125 weeks. Willie Nelson came in third with 106. It is a known fact that Swift re-recorded her first six albums. The result was her topping the charts not once, but twice in 2021. Additionally, her album 'Fearless' had this Pennsylvania-born singer-songwriter at number one for three weeks. Similarly, the updated version of her older album 'Red' (now- Red Taylor's Version) was at the top for almost two months after being released in mid-November.
In 2014, Swift made the switch from country genre to pop music with her album '1989'. Back then, Shania Twain had praised Swift on Twitter. "I think that everybody should just follow their heart and do their artistic best, and just enjoy their creativity. [Swift]'s a singer-songwriter-performer, she does it all … the world is her oyster. She's young and she needs to just do whatever she's having fun at and I think everybody's loving it," she had said.
The two stars never fail to praise each other on social media. In September 2021, Swift hopped on the 'Mama Said' trend in TikTok and paid tribute to Twain for making way for artists transitioning from country to pop. She captioned it as, "learned from the best" and added images of Twain. Just like Swift, Twain also honored her inspiration using the same audio and platform as she shared some clips of Dolly Parton. Twain captioned her video, "Thank you @taylorswift ❤️ I appreciate you! Paying this one forward to another trailblazer - @dollyparton #mamasaid #letsgogirls"
Carrying the chain forward, Swift then replied by sharing a video of dueting with Twain's video with the caption, "I have ceased to be a person anymore. I have exploded into a cloud of confetti hearts.'
