Off the back of the new 'Cardigan' music video by Taylor Swift, the pop singer has released a second version of the video dubbed 'Cabin in Candlelight'. The new version was released on July 29 and features behind-the-scenes footage of the album shoot for 'Folklore'. The new visual sees Swift roaming and relaxing in sun-kissed nature scenery such as forests and fields.

'Folklore is the eighth and latest studio album by Taylor Swift which released on July 24. It was written and recorded in isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic, with production from Swift herself, Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff. It was a surprise-dropped album, announced on social media hours before its release. The LP sees the singer departing from the mainstream pop sound of Swift's previous three albums, geared towards an indie-folk, alternative rock, electro-folk and chamber pop sound driven by piano and guitar instrumentation.

According to Billboard, 'Folklore' has earned more than 500,000 equivalent album units in the US in its first three days of release. As per those reports, the LP has, in just its first three days, already surpassed the biggest week of 2020 for any album, earned earlier this month by the release of Juice WRLD’s 'Legends Never Die', which launched with 497,000 units in the week ending July 16.

The initial 'Cardigan' music video arrived last week and currently has over 32 million views on YouTube. Although both the song and her album have become a hit in their own right, many Twitter users feel the release of 'Cabin in the Candelight' is an attempt at earning a No 1 on the charts.

Several users say she is "desperate," for it with comments like, "Plasss she’s really desperate," and "Desperation for number one. stan camila already" and "Desperate for a #1 but we still stan her."

The comments have also come with numerous loving tweets for Swift and the new visual. "YALL THIS VERSION IS SO MUCH BETTER" says a fan while another wrote, "Aw this is cute for her fans." One fan said, "So cuteeeee, we wanted more of it but that’s perfect." Another fan said, "She IS the music industry."

Either way, with her diversion from her usual pop sound, it is refreshing to see Swift dipping her toes in other forms of art.
