It looks like SZA is having a happy New Year so far, as is evident in her recent online posts. Furthermore, SZA may have plans to drop a new song in the near future. The 'Hit Different' singer expanded her online presence on January 4 when she made an appearance on Tik-Tok. SZA dropped her very first video on the popular video-sharing platform in which she is seen dancing near her kitchen at home to the infectious groove of a new track.

Release date

An official release date hasn't been revealed as of yet but we will update this space as soon as we get additional info

Concept

Lyrics from the song, such as "Feel a bit of resentment. Somewhere in my skin. That's all of my. Is that a stain on my shirt? You b***h on my nerve" match with those of a song titled 'Shirt*' found on the prominent lyrics website, Genius.

According to the website, SZA initially shared a preview of the upcoming track on her Instagram Stories back in October 2020. She also tagged in one of the song's multiple Grammy-winning producers, Darkchild (aka Rodney Roy Jerkins), who has worked with an extensive list of popular artistes including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston,  Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and more.

Fan reactions

The song apparently went viral on Tik-Tok after user @bgottfanns, uploaded a choreographed dance to go along with it. Fans believe SZA's Tik-Tok presence is going to spell trouble for other stars of the platform since a vast majority of Tik-Tok stars aren't signed artistes. "Made more noise than anyone," said a fan of SZA's new video while another wrote, "ended everyone on the app."

One fan wrote, "outsold hype house", referring to the collective of Tik-Tok personalities based in Los Angeles, California. The Hype House includes notable influencers like Chase Hudson and Kouvr and former popular members Charli D'Amelio, Dixie D'Amelio and Addison Rae. "Glad she’s not depressed and miserable anymore," said another fan.

Meanwhile, SZA celebrated her top-five entry on a recent US Apple Music Chart for Top Songs of All Genres in which she took the crown at No. 1. "NUMBER ONE ALL GENRES AND IM SURROUNDED BY KINGS!!" she wrote in all caps on Instagram on January 3 and shared a screenshot. "GOD IS SO GOOD THANK YOU GUYS SO F**KING MUCH !! I’m jus tryna be myself," she continued, adding, "Thank you for allowing me GOOD FUGGIN DAYS."

SZA shared the top five with artistes such as Lil Durk, King Von, Lil Baby and Pop Smoke. Check out her post below.
