After 25 days of epic challenges, shocking blindsides and a lot of drama, 'Survivor: Winners at War' Season 40 took a step back from its regular competition, to reunite the castaways with their family.

With an episode titled 'The Full Circle', 'Survivor: Winners at War' Season 40 returned on Wednesday night. It was an emotional start to the episode this week as the castaways, Tyson Apostol, Sarah Lacina, Kim Spradlin-Wolfe, Denise Stapley, Tony Vlachos, Sophie Clarke, Jeremy Collins, Ben Driebergen, Michele Fitzgerald and Nick Wilson reunited with their spouses, significant others, children and other family members.

There was no family challenge, and the contestants were allowed to go back and bond with their families. While we assumed that, the Edge of Extinction castaways might not get a chance to meet their families, we were surprised to see a boat arrive at the shore.

The castaways were shocked and extremely emotional to see their families and kids arrive on the Island to meet them. Amber Mariano shared that seeing her kids, made her forget about the struggle on EoE, their hunger and everything else that was worrying them. The castaways all broke down in tears, as they were happy and shocked to see their family members.

This was by far one of the most emotional episodes we've come across in Survivor history and fans agree with this. Taking to Twitter, fans revealed they were left emotional watching the families reunite. Some even added that it was heartwarming to watch the reunion amid the chaos surrounding us right now.

"25 minutes into Survivor and all I have done has cried, and I loved it. Thank you. #Survivor @jeffprobst," a fan wrote. Adding to that another said, "This episode of survivor is the wholesome content we need in a time like this :( #survivor."

"#Survivor has me balling my eyes out. For them to have no challenge and let EVERYONE even people on edge of extinction to see their family made me happy," a fan wrote while another shared, "In the midst of all the chaos in the world, what a great moment, this #survivor episode."

"OMG #SURVIVOR!!! Thank you for bringing everyone's family. That was truly wonderful. #whoscuttingonions," a fan wrote.

'Survivor: Winners at War' Season 40 airs every Wednesday night on CBS. Check your local listings for more information.
