'Survivor: Winners at War' Season 40: Natalie Anderson gets booted at first tribal council and fans are upset

Watching Natalie get eliminated, fans and viewers were shocked. They didn't expect her to get eliminated right at the first tribal council

'Survivor' is back for Season 40, and this time the stakes are even higher with winners from the earlier seasons at war. 

'Survivor: Winners at War' Season 40 premiered on Wednesday night with a two-hour special. The 20 contestants this season have outwitted, outlasted and manipulated mostly everyone from their respective season, and are now back again for another shot at being the greatest survivor.

Arriving on the island, the 20 contestants were divided into their tribes. Once the tribes were sorted out, host Jeff Probst revealed the new 'Survivor' currency; fire tokens. Each contestant starts the game with one token, and when eliminated they must bequeath their tokens to someone else before they head over to the Edge of Extinction.

At Edge of Extinction, the contestants voted out of tribal council will have to try harder to survive, and try to get fire tokens so they can get back in the game. With the series kicking off its new season with a two-hour premiere, two contestants were sent to Edge of Extinction. 

For the first challenge, the tribe members fought for fire in the form of flint and immunity that will save them from the tribal council. It was a water challenge, and Dakal takes home the first win, sending Sele to their first tribal council. 

While strategizing Denise Stapley and Adam Klein are targeted but things take a turn during the tribal council. Adam changes the target from him and Denise and onto Rob Mariano and Parvati Shallow. While everyone gets caught up with their own words, its time to vote, and shockingly the first contestant to be booted out of the island and sent to the Edge of Extinction was Natalie Anderson. And one her way out, she hands over her token to Jeremy. 

Watching Natalie get eliminated, fans and viewers were shocked. They didn't expect her to get eliminated right at the first tribal council. Taking to Twitter, fans cannot get over the fact that Natalie was booted.

"Still can’t get over Boston rob voting Natalie for being in pair with Jeremy with his whole wife is here on island #Survivor," a fan wrote. Adding to that another said, "Literally somebody tell me something Natalie did to deserve being voted out? There is no reason that’s why I’m even more pissed #survivor." 

"im literally in tears for natalie i love her so much why god why #survivor," a fan shared while another wrote, "IM STILL FUMING THAT THEY DID MY GIRL NATALIE LIKE THAT #Survivor40 #Survivor."

"I don't think ANYONE predicted Natalie to be first boot. I'm so sad she's now following in Nadiya's footsteps #Survivor #SurvivorWinnersAtWar," a fan wrote. 

Fans predict that now with Natalie in the Edge of Extinction, she will find a way and get back to the game stronger than ever.
