The gameplay this season on 'Survivor: Winners at War' is so fast that we might need instant replays just to make sure we saw what we saw. 'Survivor: Winners at War' Season 40 returned on Wednesday night, and in what was an unexpected and shocking elimination, Ethan was voted out and sent to the Edge of Extinction.

Titled 'Out for Blood' Episode 3 of 'Survivor: Winners at War' showcased the new-school players going exactly for the blood of all the old school players in their tribe, especially in the Sele tribe.

Last week we saw Danni Boatwright get voted off when she tried to cross paths with Parvati Shallow. Danni was the third contestant to enter the Edge of Extinction after Natalie and Amber Mariano.

Back again this week, after Danni's elimination, Adam revealed he felt like the Sele tribe was being led by Rob Mariano, Parvati and Ethan, the old school players.

Adam gets his closest ally, Denise Stapley to discuss the thought of getting Parvati out in the next tribal council so that would weaken the old-school alliance but would still have Rob and Ethan in their alliance. After Adam revealed the plan to Ethan, he pretended to be on board with the plan.

For their next immunity challenge, it was a close one this week. Last week, we saw Rob struggle during the puzzle and this week he returned for redemption. The tribe members had to cross a ninja-like ramp obstacle course, dig a sandpit, climb a tower and complete a tree puzzle.

Though Dakal was in the lead, toward the end Sele caught up with them. In what was a neck-to-neck immunity challenge, with just one piece to the puzzle remaining, Dakal won immunity for the second week in a row, making it their third win out of four immunity challenges sending Sele back to tribal council.

Back at camp, the members of the Sele tribe just sat staring at each other not knowing what to do. In the end, Jeremy Collins, Denise and Ben walk away to talk about eliminating Parvati.

However, when Adam tries to convince Rob to vote Parvati out, Rob just like Ethan pretends to agree, but talks to the rest of the tribe and decides to vote Adam out.

With only Adam and Parvati's name being thrown around, no one expected Ethan to suddenly become a target. During the tribal council, Sele admits that it is hard for them to be unified especially after they have been losing quite a lot.

When the votes were read, Adam had received three votes, Parvati one, and Ethan four. Though Adam was saved by his tribe, it was at the cost of Ethan's time in the game. Leaving, he gave his fire token to Parvati and heads over to the Edge of Extinction, making him the first man there.

Taking to Twitter after the episode, fans are shocked and upset that Ethan was voted off affirming it should have been someone else. "That was so rough. I don't even know what to say about that episode. So much went down. Great episode, but so many of these vote outs are gonna suck. Hate to see Ethan go. I hope Rob can find new footing," a fan wrote.

"Ethan didn't come back 16 season later for them to do him dirty.... should have beem adam or ben #Survivor," a fan shared. Another wrote, "But back to Ethan. I’m raging. Whyyyy!!!!??? Pissed. Get your ass back on the island sir. #Survivor #WinnersAtWar."

"Ethan wasn’t a threat. All he did was embrace every day and live for the experience. Why take away the dream from him that he fought so hard for when it wasn’t even a game move!! Nothing was accomplished. #survivor #survivor40 #survivorwinnersatwar," a fan wrote.

Another added, "WHEN WE SAID WE WANTED A MALE VOTED OUT WE MEANT BEN OR ADAM. WTF ETHAN NOOO."

"I was fine with Boston Rob and Adam working together. I was fine with Parvarti being voted out. I am NOT fine with Ethan going! Not my wonderful Ethan," a fan shared. Another added, "So hurt that Ethan had to go. Powerful move though. Rob is fuming. I know Parvati feels terrible."
