For the second round of the show, there were 'Team Allspice' consisting of married couple Mary Stuart and Andrew. Taking a dig at the team's name, Host Leslie Jones said, "I am happy to see White folks using that much spice." Meanwhile, 'Team Tortellini' consisted of mother-daughter duo Michele and Madison. Michele is an HR while Madison is a school teacher teaching 5th graders and they work for the same organization.

The mother-daughter duo who came dressed in pink, looked like sisters and the relationship they have between them is precious. Maybe, that's the reason they went on to become the first participants of the show to win $100,000. "Aw that mother-daughter team was so cute! Glad they won!" wrote a fan.

Team Cobbler is another sweet couple, married for 20 years. Their friendships was electric. "I’m rooting for #TeamCobbler," says one fan.

The smaller sweep begins before the big sweep like the pattern of the show has been, allowing the participants to buy extra time and points before they move on to the big sweep. The two teams with more points get to do the big sweep and then the last team standing with the most points gets to do one last sweep and win a total of $100,000.

The mini sweeps include different types of guessing games with some new additional guessing games each episode. By the time they moved on to the final round Team Cobbler had 2364 points, Team Mixspice had 2941 points and Team Tortellini was at a whopping 3486 points. By this time, fans already started having a lot of expectations, "I think #teamtortellini got this - I think she’s the only one to complete the shopping list - it looks close though ."

By the time Team Tortellini got to the final round, steaks were already very high as they could either win $25,000 or lose everything and go back home with the previously won $3486. When they got through it, Leslie asked if they would like to carry on and play for $50,000, they decide to keep going, and then what the viewers including host Leslie Jones herself experience is a mixed emotion of frenzy and restlessness, knowing the fact that if they lose, they lose all the money.

We can see host Leslie getting emotional and having a hard time keeping her nerves calm as Team Tortellini runs and sprints trying to find the right item from the clue. When they win $50,000, Leslie gives them one more chance to stop and leave with the money they want. We can see the duo discussing almost in tears, "This is the most amount of money I have seen in my life," says Madison, "But you need money for your house," says the mother. Viewers at home get a little teary-eyed too as they comment, "When mama said, you need a house and, this is for you. What do you want to do?"

"Why am I crying off of #SupermarketSweep ," wrote another. "Well! At this point, who could have stopped this power-house from winning. Mother-daughter duo Michele and Madison became the first team to win $100,000 this season and what an exhilarating moment it was. "First $100K winners!! WOW!! Congratulations to Team Tortellini," wrote a fan.
