'Supergirl' Season 5 Episode 3 official photos show Kara trying to mend her broken friendship with Lena Luthor

The CW also released an official synopsis for the upcoming episode titled 'Blurred Lines' that sees J'onn J'onzz (David Harewood) diving further into his memories

The CW has released the official photos and the synopsis for 'Supergirl' season five episode three. The newest episode, set to air on October 20, sees Kara Danvers aka Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) attempt to fix her broken friendship with Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath).

This comes after the latter still aims to use the superhero for her own twisted purpose, and Kara hasn't got the faintest idea of what it is.

The season opened with Lena selling CatCo Media to Andrea Rojas aka Arcata (Julie Gonzalo) and new tech in the form of Obsidian North making an appearance.

The episode also sees Kara revealing her superhero identity to Lena and offering her a sincere apology for having kept it a secret from her for so long.

Titled 'Be Careful Who You Trust', episode three sees Kara try and get used to life under the new editor, Andrea Rojas (Julie Gonzalo).

The official synopsis for the episode reads:  "Kara (Melissa Benoist) attempts to mend her relationship with Lena (Katie McGrath). J'onn J'onzz (David Harewood) takes a deep dive into his memories while Kelly (Azie Tesfai) tries to help an old friend. Eric Dean Seaton directed the episode written by Lindsay Sturman & J. Holtham."

The synopsis suggests that David Harewood's J'Onn J'Onzz will have a story to tell as well. Things have not been the same for the Martian Manhunter ever since his brother, Malefic showed up in 'Event Horizon' and promises revenge.

In addition, there is also that storyline that deals with the Leviathan and the massive 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' crossover where the Girl of Steel will be joined by three Supermen to assist in taking down the Anti-Monitor (LaMonica Garrett). We can expect Arcata to pop up at some stage this season as well.

'Supergirl' airs on Sundays at 9 pm on The CW. 'Blurred Lines' will debut on October 20.
