'Supergirl' Season 5 Episode 14: William 'pressures' Kara to date him, fans slam 'horrible' Women's Day message

Kara agrees to go out on a date with William Dey on 'Supergirl' and fans are less than pleased

Ever since the departure of Mon-El( Chris Wood) in Season 3 of 'Supergirl', Kara Danvers's  (Melissa Benoist) love life had taken a backseat. That seems to be changing now, as William Dey in Season 5 seems to be keen on taking Kara out on a date. Initially hesitant, as she was afraid that she might hurt him just like she hurt Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath), Kara finally accepted her feelings for him and has agreed to go out on a date.

Fans are not pleased with this development as they've struck down the idea of a romance between the two from the start. There has been a flood of angry reactions on social media.

One fan tweeted, "Oh, f**king hell. They're really doing the Kara and William thing. Sigh."



 

Another wrote, "KARA IS JUST GOING OUT WITH WILLIAM BECAUSE PEOPLE IS TELLING YOU TO DO THAT!!!! CAN THEY JUST PLEASEEEEEE LEAVE HER DECIDE FOR HERSELF??? FOR ONCE??"

"Their date better be horrible or interrupted or something so that they realize it’s not gonna work," tweeted a hopeful fan.

"The writers forcing Kara into their heteronormative and forcing a forseeibly doom relationship bullshit um yes I think so," wrote another fan.

Moreover, fans are irritated that William kept trying to ask Kara out even when she had said no. "The message that this guy can just keep wearing her down so now she’s going on the date. Remember the real life dude who moved his piano outside & wouldn’t stop playing until his girlfriend took him back? It’s a horrible message to push onto girls who watch your show."

"What have we learned on this International Women’s Day? You can say no to a guy and it’s totally fine for him to keep pressuring you until you say yes," said another irritated fan.

"THIS IS GROSS THEY HAVE THE CHEMISTRY OF A WET PIECE OF CARDBOARD," an angry fan wrote.

"Alex, stop pushing your sister onto people she has no chemistry with," a fan tweeted.

'Supergirl' airs on CW Sundays at 9pm.
