'Stranger Things' Season 5: Script writing offically underway for the final season of Netflix's hit horror drama
Netflix's 'Stranger Things' Season 5 is officially up and running. The writers' team took to Twitter with the caption 'Day 1' marking the start of the script writing of the final season of the retro horror series. Ahead of the Season 4 premiere, The Duffer Brothers confirmed that the show will call curtains down with a fifth season.
“There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things: new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes,” they said. “But first we hope you stay with us as we finish this tale.” This hinted that there was more content in store. Per a Deadline report, the next slate of projects includes a live-action Stranger Things spinoff series based on an original idea. Season 4 saw the heroes face off against Vecna/001, a powerful enemy who has a complicated relationship with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine).

With that, here's a look at everything that we know so far ahead of Season 5. The creators also hinted a delayed premiere and with the writers sitting in only Tuesday (Aug 2), expect the final season to make an entrance by 2024.
“Characters are already going to be in action, they’re already going to have a goal and a drive, and I think that’s going to carve out at least a couple hours and make this season feel really different,” Matt Duffer continued. “I’m sure the wrap-up will be a lot longer, it’s going to be ‘Return of the King’-ish with, like, eight endings.” Season 4 volume 2 clocked 1.352 billion hours of viewing on Netflix.
