Sonny Digital mocks Saweetie over rumored low first-week sales of 'The Single Life', fans rush to defend her
Rapper Saweetie recently dropped her latest EP titled 'The Single Life' and rumors have started swirling that the sales for the first week are extremely low. The unverified number is 2,000. Now, hit record producer Sonny Digital has trolled Saweetie for having over 13 million followers, being a worldwide sensation, but still having a dangerously low projected number saying that the "math ain't adding up." His statement upset the fans and they came to defend the rapper.
The 29-year-old rapper dropped 'The Single Life' on November 18 via Warner Records consisting of six tracks and no features. The album directly leads into the highly-anticipated debut album of Saweetie's titled 'Pretty Bitch Music'. As for the latest drop, Sonny Digital, who produced hit tracks like 'ILOVEMAKONNEN' featuring Drake, the sales numbers do not support the claim of her being a superstar. He took to his Twitter to wrote, "13 million followers , hundreds of thousands likes on all pictures but album sold less than 2000 copies. That’s crazy. The math ain’t adding up." He also wrote, "If I had millions of followers and my album sold 2k I probably would just delete all my social media cause y’all lying to me."

Fans defend Saweetie after Sonny Digital trolls her low album sales
Saweetie's fans were quick to defend her. One user tweeted, "They dragging Saweetie for her sales but get mad when people remind them that NONE of Glorilla songs Charted, Cardi B has no solo charting songs, Normani hasn’t had a charting song in 2 years and Meg ain’t chart in months yet they get more support than her ! Keep that energy" Another user wrote, "Nobody in the industry says anything with their chest when the male rappers are selling 30k or less with all the likes and followers they have. Plus they run the rap industry. The math ain’t matching for none of these artist."

One user wrote, "Well that would be a lot of artists. Followers have never been fans. Just because somebody follows you doesn’t mean they care about your art. Who doesn’t know that by now?" Another user tweeted, "I just don’t understand why every grown man in the industry feels the need to chime in on Saweetie’s album sales? It’s like they’re trying to shit on her but everyone cares enough to speak on her so she must be worth the conversation."

One user compared Saweetie's sales to the legendary Bob Marley and wrote, "Babe, saweetie has multiple platinum singles and multiple brand deals. An ep with 6 songs that she dropped as a surprise selling 2k isn’t stopping anything. Move on." Another user tweeted, "Why all these men feel the need to even speak on saweetie it’s very weird especially when y’all homeboys ain’t selling at all".
