Sir Rod Stewart suffers double tragedy: Icon shaken by death of Queen Elizabeth II and much-loved brother Don
LONDON, UK: Sir Rod Stewart announced the heartbreaking news that his brother, Don, had died. On Thursday, September 9, Stewart took to Twitter to offer condolences for the Queen's death. In the same tweet, he broke the news about his sibling, stating that it has been a difficult two days for him.
"It has been a devastating 48 hours. My brother Don passed on Tuesday at 94 and today Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at 96. Like Don, the Queen has been a presence all through my life as a great unifier. A shining star that will never fade in our hearts and souls," his tweet read. The cause of death has, however, been kept private as of now.

In a separate tweet posted on the same day, Stewart once again addressed the Queen's death, stating, "What a privilege it was to perform for her. My deepest sympathies to the Royal Family. God save the King." He also revealed that his brother was 94 at the time of his death, which is close to the Queen, who died at 96.
Fans expressed their sympathies and offered condolences to Stewart during this difficult time. "I am an American through & through, but I am saddened by the loss of a strong iconic figure such as the queen, who lead the Monarchy with grace and grit. I also pray for comfort for you for the very personal loss of your brother. May God wrap His loving arms around you," one fan tweeted.
