Bradley Cooper turns 48: Single dad wants to get back with daughter's mom Irina Shayk to have second baby
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Bradley Cooper, the actor and a proud single father turned 48, on Thursday, January 5. Cooper and his ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk share a daughter together. The former couple had their daughter, Lea de Seine Shayk Cooper, in March 2017, but following their split in 2019 Cooper and Shayak co-parent their child ever since. However, they apparently had been thinking about getting back together.
According to People, Cooper discussed how becoming a parent has impacted his life during a June 2022 visit on the 'SmartLess' podcast and said, "Everything changed. Every single thing is shaded by, or brought into glorious colors, by the fact that I get to be a father to a wonderful human being." The happy father said that experiencing exhilarating "moments" like having a fun on set, making a "breakthrough with a script," or "in the editing room" is equally as enjoyable as spending time with his kid on a regular basis. "Not spinning it, that. That's the simple fact," the Oscar nominee added.

In an interview with the Interview magazine, Cooper joked and said that he runs a "one-man preschool," adding that he and his daughter "wake up, we do swim class in the bathtub." The two-time Grammy Award winner told NPR that his daughter encourages him to be "present" and enjoy life impulsively. "Having a child and having a family of my own – which is a miracle and something I've always dreamt of – has opened me up even more, I guess, to the day, and to be present," he added.
Cooper told People, "I just want want her to feel loved." Cooper said he wants Lea to grow up in the same environment as he did. The native of Pennsylvania once remarked to Oprah Winfrey that his daughter makes him think of his late father, Charles, who tragically passed away in 2011 from lung cancer. I frequently see my father in her, Cooper said, adding that there are occasions when Lea "looks just like" his father, which pushes him to ask, "Dad?" The 'Limitless' star said that having a child has restored his sense of playfulness as he now plays with toys "all day long" without feeling "strange" about it and also watches "cartoons endlessly" without a care in the world.
Irena Shayk and Bradley Cooper might reconcile for their daughter to have a sibling
Having dated for four years, Cooper and Shayk split in 2019. The 'Hangover' actor and Shayk have never discussed their breakup. Although there were rumors that Cooper and Lady Gaga, his co-star in 'A Star Is Born', were too close and in advance of the movie's release, everything happened. According to a source, Cooper disregarded his connection with the Russian model because he was so preoccupied with the movie, as reported by Marie Claire.
The insider further stated that he and Shayk tried to mend their relationship but were unable because things had changed. Since their breakup, the two allegedly haven't been in any committed relationship. In September 2022, a source told Page Six that the couple could reconcile and plan to have another kid. Cooper and Shayk shared a picture of their family vacation in the tropics and a source revealed that they may be considering getting back together, adding that the mother-of-one "would like her daughter to have a sibling," and the doting dad is reportedly on board with the idea of having another child.
The BAFTA Award winner has been hanging out with Huma Abedin, an American politician, although a source said that their relationship was only informal. Shayk, on the other hand, had short romantic relationships with both art dealer Vito Schnabel and musician Kanye West. Despite not being in committed relationships, a source claimed Cooper and Shayk are eager to become parents together, adding: "It's not Bennifer 2.0 where the other person is always in the back of their head. It's more like, 'why not?' They have to deal with each other anyway since they are parents together. They are both thinking, maybe it's time to finally really settle in." The insider also said at the time that "neither one is happy."
The co-parents appear to be doing far better since that encounter, which feeds suspicions of a potential reunion. According to the Daily Mail, in September 2022, Cooper and Shayk were seen cuddling on the streets of New York.
Lea, their five-year-old daughter, was with them as they crossed the street and the two of them walked hand in hand while exchanging hugs. Further, Hollywood Pipeline saw the couple leaving the vehicle in 2021 as they entered a black Mercedes G-Class in the New York City.
The Academy Award winner displayed good manners by opening the door for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model in the backseat as the car drew closer to the two, who were walking behind one another. After signing for one of the photographers, he entered the vehicle and sat in the driver's seat. Cooper was photographed holding his daughter, who was dressed in a pink frock, while Cooper donned beige slacks, a blue shirt, and matching sneakers. Lea's mother, meanwhile, looked stylish in a white blouse and flowing black slacks as well as black shoes and sunglasses.
