After the raging success of ‘A Star is Born’, Hollywood biggie Bradley Cooper is all set to take over as a director again for Netflix’s new biopic called 'Maestro'. Interestingly, the award-winning star will also take on the lead role of Jewish musician Leonard Bernstein- the first look of which was shared on social media on Monday, May 30.

The official Twitter account of Netflix managed to break the Internet after sharing the first few looks of 'Maestro' where Bradley will be seen opposite Carey Mulligan. The latter will be playing Bernstein's wife, Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein.  Social media users, however, seemed upset with Bradley’s first look from the biopic as they noticed that a prosthetic nose has been given to the actor for the role. They felt the fake nose was not required also claiming that the makers could have easily gone for any Jewish actor.

The photos feature the Academy Award-nominated actor as a young Bernstein alongside Carey Mulligan. Netflix also dropped a behind the scene picture where Bradley can be seen setting a frame while still in costume as Bernstein. However, the pictures that made noise were Bradley as an elderly Bernstein. For the unversed, Bradley Cooper has also co-written the script with Josh Singer.

Netflix’s 'Maestro' follows Leonard and Felicia's complex love story across three decades, beginning with their first meeting at a party in 1946 through two engagements and three children-Jamie, Alexander, and Nina over 25 years of marriage. The much-awaited flick also stars Maya Hawke and Matt Bomer. The film is being produced by Bradley Cooper, Kristie Macosko Krieger, Fred Berner, Amy Durning, and two Hollywood stalwarts- Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg.

‘Bradley Cooper already has a big nose’

Reacting to Bradley Cooper’s heavily prosthetic look, one user said, “Going to really be something.. when they give this movie an oscar for putting a man named bradley cooper in a prosthetic jew nose.” Another stated, “Bradley Cooper's prosthetics seem to be the actual issue. Compare his fake nose to Bernstein's. If someone needs to alter their appearance with prosthetics and make-up (applies to brownface, fat suits, cis people playing trans people) usually better to let others take the part.”

The next one shared, “Bradley Cooper already has a big nose I mean come on.” Meanwhile, an individual tweeted, “Did they uh , really give bradley cooper a prosthetic nose for leonard berstein ,,, thats no good.” Another mentioned, “The bradley cooper as leonard bernstein photos get crazier when you realize that cooper isn’t jewish” and one said, “Anybody else weirded out by bradley cooper donning enormous amlunts of makeup and prosthetics to pretend to be an elderly jewish man? surely there are elderly jewish actors that could’ve played that role?” One user concluded, “If only there were actual jewish actors so that bradley cooper didn't have to wear a prosthetic nose to play leonard Bernstein.”
