Should Queen apologize to Meghan Markle 'for not protecting her'? Internet says 'jog on' after TV host's urging
The backlash over Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's interview with Oprah Winfrey continues to unfold as the hosts on 'The View' discussed the interview and called on Queen Elizabeth II to apologize to Meghan for "not protecting" her.
During the interview, Meghan spoke about the struggles during her time with the royal family. She and Harry also revealed disturbing discussions in the palace about their son's skin color. Meghan also spoke about having "suicidal thoughts" while living there, saying, "that was a very clear and frightening thought, I couldn't be left alone." She also confessed that she did not receive any help from the royal family in her dark days — when she went to 'The Institution' to ask before checking into a hospital, she was told it would not be good for optics and was shrugged off.

With Meghan and Harry's tell-all interview airing on CBS over the weekend, social media has been taken by storm, and the latest controversy to hit is 'The View' hosts discussing the interview and how they believe that the Queen should apologize to her. The call to apologize came from co-host Sunny Hostin.
Before the interview, when the Buckingham Palace announced an investigation into allegations of bullying by Meghan, 'The View' co-host Whoopi Goldberg held a discussion about the development, with Hostin saying, "I'm really shocked that rather than trying to mend this rift, rather than supporting Meghan and Harry who I think removed his wife and his family from England because of the terrible racial hatred that she was subjected to, and he didn't want history to repeat itself after what happened to his mother with the media."
Hostin continued, "I'm just surprised that they haven't tried to even apologize for not protecting her more, and instead do this. It says a lot, I think, about the workings of the Royal Family."
However, those on social media have hit out at 'The View' hosts for calling on the Queen to apologize. One user wrote, "jog on" while another said, "so the Americans have bought into Meghans crocodile tears Woopi Goldberg and co think the Queen's owes Meghan an apology I'm actually tripping over my jaw right now , I can't believe she is going this far the silly evil tart."

According to reports, the Queen will be skipping the two-hour interview because she had other important matters regarding 'the Firm' to get to. “There is no way the queen will watch the interview tonight. She has a briefing, early Monday morning,” a source told the publication, noting that the queen “will be focusing on the ongoings in her own country.”
