'No filters down at the station': 'Mighty Ducks' star Shaun Weiss jokes about 2020 arrest and horrible mugshot at stand-up gig in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA: Shaun Weiss, who played Goldberg in the 'Mighty Ducks' movie series, recently made fun of his prior drug abuse issues which resulted in his arrest. While performing stand-up comedy at the Mic Drop Comedy Club in San Diego, Weiss, who has been drug-free for three years, made light of his arrest for burglary in 2020 and horrific mugshot, attributing it to his prior drug addiction struggles.
During his set, which was captured on video obtained by TMZ, Weiss joked about his arrest, saying, "It was rough. They put my mugshot out there, and that was rough. I'll tell you, they are not using any Instagram filters down at the station okay folks."

'You don't have a drug problem until you run out of money'
He continued by saying, "You know you look bad when your drug dealer doesn't want to be seen in public with you. That's when you should reassess things." Weiss also discussed his past struggles with drug addiction during the set. He joked, "You don't have a drug problem until you run out of money. When you have money, you're just getting high, you're having fun. When you're on a drug that you need, and you can't buy it, now you have a drug problem."
Weiss also joked about his past criminal behavior, saying that on the streets of Los Angeles, "When you're as sexy as I am, you either do sexual favors or steal things." Weiss disclosed during his performance that he had a history of theft arrests and that the court had ordered him to attend a program aimed at preventing theft, which he was permitted to attend for free. He also shared that he had been sober for three years from alcohol and drug use.

Weiss' life has turned around since he was released from jail and ordered by a Yuba County, California judge to complete a 90-day rehab program following a week-long detox at a center in Orange County, California.
Weiss' arrest in January 2020 for residential burglary and being under the influence of meth was not his first brush with the law. He had previously been arrested for public intoxication in August 2018 and shoplifting in December 2018. In 2017, he was sentenced to 90 days in jail for meth possession in Burbank, California as per Daily Mail.
