Jeremy Meeks: 'Hot felon' plans to release memoir 7 years after sensuous 'mugshot' went viral
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Following his release from prison in 2016, Jeremy Meeks launched a modeling career. This fall, he revealed plans to collaborate with a ghostwriter on an autobiography about his life. The 39-year-old actor hinted at his plans to publish an autobiography in October after landing at Los Angeles International Airport on Friday, April 14. The memoir would be about his ascent to popularity.
After his stunning mugshot was posted to the Facebook page of the Stockton Police Department, the actor—who claimed it would be "impossible to attempt to chop" his life narrative into an hour-and-a-half film—became an overnight internet sensation, reports the Daily Mail. After being freed in March 2016, Meeks started his modeling career. In February 2017, he made his catwalk debut at the New York Fashion Week.

'Hot Mugshot Guy' and 'Prison Bae'
Meeks, a former Californian Crips gang member, rose to fame after police posted his mugshot on Facebook and it became viral due to his appearance. He was dubbed "Prison Bae" and "Hot Mugshot Guy" on social media almost immediately. In the end, the post with his photo received more than 75,000 likes and 20,000 comments.
On Friday, he boasted to TMZ, "My life story is coming out in a book. It's a bit surreal, I'm very excited." Meeks, who is single at present also disclosed to the outlet that he was returning from Pennsylvania where he had been filming a Christmas movie, and that he is in "a bunch of movies coming out." He also hinted at plans to adapt his life narrative into a television program, albeit he would not want to play himself.
Jeremy Meeks' 'dark' childhood
In a very rare tell-all interview with Chelsea Grayson for her podcast/video series "What's Your Water," Meeks talked about his troubled upbringing, his heroin-addicted mom, his convicted dad, and his path to modeling after his stint in prison. "Both of my parents were heroin addicts. I was a heroin baby," he claimed which refers to the fact that his mother used heroin when while pregnant with him, causing him to be born dependent on it. He stated that his mother is now doing "really well and that she has been clean of hard drugs for years, although she does smoke a ton of weed."
Raymond Meeks, Jeremy's father, was tried twice for murder; the first trial ended in a hung jury, and the second trial resulted in a guilty judgment for first-degree murder. Ray was working intermittently as a mechanic before he committed the murder, reportedly to support his then-wife Kathy and son Jeremy. Since Jeremy's mother Kathy has spent a lot of time behind bars, Leanna, Jeremy's older sister, has been caring for him since he was 12 years old.
Meeks said in the interview that he believed he had an affinity for making poor choices. Meeks alleges he was targeted because of his mixed color and appearance, claiming, "For most light-skinned people, you're not black enough and you're not white." Meeks claims he served ten and a half years in prison.
Meeks stated that when his photo went viral, he started receiving 300 fan letters every day, some of which had cash concealed inside books. Meeks was given a 27-month sentence instead of the requested 63 months by the judge so he might benefit from his internet notoriety. Meeks stated in the interview, "The only thing that saved me, which was such a blessing, was my judge. He helped me in so many ways."
What is Jeremy Meeks doing now?
Meeks is currently among the most well-known models in the world after facing some early setbacks in his endeavor to pursue a new career. Meeks is the father of two sons: one with his ex-wife Melissa Meeks, to whom he was wed from 2008 until 2018, and the other with Chloe Green, the heiress to Topshop. Following Green's exposure to kissing someone on a yacht in the Mediterranean, it is believed the couple has split up.
