Spoilers for 'Shaq Life' Episode 3 'Shaq vs Shaquille'

Nothing comes easy for the big man. And this time there's an obstacle. Being Papa John's pitchman has seen some major speed bumps as there are enough people throwing brickbats at the pizza company that made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Luckily for Shaq, the man knows how to sell. Jackson's narration takes us through the time Shaq rolled up his sleeves and controlled his own marketing. Instagram and Twitter did see the star get some hate for being part of Papa John's, something the legend took quite seriously and looked to fix.

He explained the difference being Shaq and Shaquille: "Shaq has always been a man of character, but Shaquille is the 'what-you-see-is-what-you-get guy'. When Shaquille gets mad, he doesn't leave the house, and when he does that gives you attitude, it makes Shaq look bad."

While the opening of the third episode does come in with a tad bit serious tone, the show eases up when it sees Shaq take a break to get some much-needed R&R.

One of the highlights is when the family goes on a trip to the Bahamas and they shoot an incident with the sharks. Shaq throws a GoPro into the water and tries to get some footage of the danger lurking beneath them and the fun lasts until one of the sharks bite off the connected thread leaving the cam floating some distance away.

Despite his son Shaqir's pleas to venture out in the water, Shaq refuses.

While the cam is eventually recovered thanks to an experienced diver, the entire event sheds light on how important family is for Shaq. And speaking of family, when the chips are down, Shaq does what almost everyone does ‚ look for motivation and guidance — and he gets it from Lucille, his mother.

'Shaq vs Shaquille' is all about how the NBA star approaches his business and money, and despite being the multi-millionaire he is, he shows that it is important to know a thing or two about finance.

The mission is to prove haters wrong and Shaq, during the franchise meeting of Papa John's, makes sure he talks to the people involved actively. The clips of him interacting isn't just a filler, but has valuable tips on how they intend to remodel their pizza pricing structure, the presentation and the works.

Helping this is Samuel L Jackson who keeps the audience engrossed with his fun narration tone and his odd MCU examples.

It has been three episodes of 'Shaq Life' and so far the docuseries has been fun and informative. It has managed to strike the perfect balance as it shows the various shades of Shaq. His fans have no reason to be disappointed.

'Shaq Life' airs on Thursday at 9 pm ET on TNT.
