While 'Saturday Night Live' goes on a break this week, here's a look at the 'iconic' last episode of the year

'Saturday Night Live' has kept its audiences entertained for weekend after weekend with their hilarious comedy sketches along with their cold open segment.

However, the last time when Eddie Murphy appeared on the show as a host on December 21, he remarked that he would be the last person to host the show this year.

This does not come as a surprise as 'Saturday Night Live' tends to go on a break a week before the New Year. This time, the show ended by showcasing its last celebrities — Murphy and guest singer Lizzo. The show will be making a return on January 25 with all-new celebrities joining the cast to entertain audiences.

However, one can always watch reruns on Hulu. Until then, let us take you on a ride to what the previous episode was all about. The show ended with a bang as it brought Eddie Murphy, Tracy Morgan, Chris Rick, Dave Chappelle and Kenan Thompson together.

People thought that it was "iconic" to have five brilliant comedians on the stage together. "That was kind of an early #BlackHistoryMonth present all they were missing was the uncle from #TheJamieFoxxShow," one fan wrote.

Another added, "What an honor to see four of the greatest African American comedians all in one room on Saturday Night Live!!!!"

Fans were happy to see how men of color were getting time to shine bright on the SNL stage. Meanwhile, Murphy kept people excited throughout the show, especially when he reprised his role as Mister Robinson.

Murphy started the skit with an updated version of 'Won't You Be My Neighbor' and quickly jumped into explaining "Squatter's Rights". Without beating around the bush he tried to explain the term in simple terms as he stated that this right meant that "finder's keepers, but for other people's houses."

On the other hand, the show's cold open segment shed light on President Donald Trump's impeachment as Alec Baldwin reprised his role as Trump. While the previous episode gave us a lot to remember, viewers will have to wait a couple of weeks until a new episode airs.
