'Date night': Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr keep the romance alive in their 20-year wedlock
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sarah Michelle Gellar, 45, and Freddie Prinze Jr, 46, appeared more in love than ever in a romantic photo they both posted to their individual Instagram stories on December 2. The happy pair enjoyed a wonderful date night at Blue Ribbon restaurant and captioned the photo, "date night," with a few animated pink hearts.
Prinze Jr had a laid-back appearance with a gray zip-up hoodie, a well-groomed beard completing the look with unkempt salt and pepper hair. Gellar looked stunning in a dark gray sweater with her long blonde hair parted to the side, a little eye makeup, and a pink lip gloss. The 'She's All That' actor, who married Gellar in 2001, discussed their 20-year marriage on the Australian radio programme Kyle and Jackie O.

"I hesitate at giving [relationship] advice because what's good for me may kill another, just like peanut butter," he said, before explaining that doing the cooking, cleaning and making his wife laugh are key to their long and thriving marriage. "My mum was a chef and I learned how to cook, and I married someone who couldn't cook. So I'm necessary. She needs me to live and sustain herself!" he joked. "Number two is laughter. I still make her laugh," he added.
He added that he loves doing laundry explaining, "I hate a mess. If something is dirty, I clean it. I do the dishes while I'm cooking so there's less s**t to look at. I can't stand a mess: my room is spotless, my car is spotless. I'm one day late for a haircut and I'm going crazy." He added, "I saw a picture crooked in another guy's office and I had to step up and straighten it. I can't stand anything looking like crap."
Prinze Jr met Gellar while working together on the 1997 iconic slasher film 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'. The couple didn't start dating until three years after working together. Prinze Jr told ET that he "didn't think she ate enough" and "made sure I cooked for her. And she didn't have a driver's license so I was her chauffeur, and I would drive her to the gym every day and then go to the store, go get myself some lunch and then drive her back and we would just have an hour drive." The couple have two children- Charlotte, 9 and Rocky, 6.
Prinze Jr, who took a hiatus from acting to raise his children, will make his acting comeback in the Netflix film 'Christmas with You'. He plays the role of a father in the movie, his first romantic comedy film in ten years. Prinze Jr, who is fluent in Spanish and is of Puerto Rican, Italian, and German ancestry, said that he is quite pleased to "play a Latino" for the first time. The famous actor, known for his part in the 1999 teenager rom-com 'She's All That,' also admitted he hasn't seen the 'He's All That' remake, which stars TikTok sensation Addison Rae, and that he turned down an invitation to be in the movie.
His wife, Gellar will be starring in Paramount+'s 'Wolf Pack' helmed by 'Teen Wolf' creator Jeff Davis. It is based on the Edo Van Belkom novel series. The show will also feature Chloe Rose Robertson, Armani Jackson, Bella Shepard, Tyler Lawrence Gray, and Rodrigo Santoro. The show is premiering on January 26, 2023, on Paramount+.
