Popular TBS talk show 'Full Frontal' is at the receiving end of a severe backlash over host Samantha Bee's use of a slur against first daughter Ivanka Trump on Wednesday night.

The comedian and political commentator, who is a vocal opponent of the Donald Trump presidency, however apologized on Thursday, saying she had "crossed a line."

"I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night," Bee said in a statement on Thursday afternoon.

"It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it," she added.

Sam, who is a vociferous opponent of Trump's immigration policies, was tearing into the current ICE practice of separating undocumented immigrant children from their parents when they cross the border in the Wednesday episode of 'Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.'

Sam said, “Tearing children away from their parents is so evil, it’s the inciting incident in almost every movie we’ve ever cared about."

“Ivanka Trump, who works at the White House, chose to post the second most oblivious tweet this week," she further added in reference to a tweet Ivanka posted of herself cuddling her baby. It was captioned, “My love! #SundayMorning”.

"You know, Ivanka, that’s a beautiful photo of you and your child, but let me just say, one mother to another, do something about your dad’s immigration practices," Samantha said, before ending the segment with, "… you feckless c**t! He listens to you!”

Since the episode aired on Wednesday, the host has faced severe backlash, with many even comparing her comments to the recent racist tweet posted by Roseanne Barr, that led to ABC cancelling her show 'Roseanne.'

To recap, Roseanne – who later claimed to be on Ambien while she tweeted – called former Barack Obama White House advisor Valerie Jarrett a product of the Muslim Brotherhood and “Planet of the Apes.”

While many understand the fundamental difference between a woman using vulgar language about another woman and a white person using racist language about a black person, Sam was under a lot of pressure to apologize and retract her words – which she did.

"I would like to sincerely apologize to Ivanka Trump and to my viewers for using an expletive on my show to describe her last night. It was inappropriate and inexcusable. I crossed a line, and I deeply regret it," she tweeted on Thursday, June 1.

Regardless, White House is gunning for the show – which is notoriously critical of the current administration – to be cancelled much like ABC's swift cancellation of 'Roseanne.'

A known conservative voice within the NBC network, Megyn Kelly, tweeted, “This is disgusting. How is this acceptable? And how are we expected to take any of these publications seriously if they gleefully repost something like this at the same time they (rightfully) condemn @therealroseanne? You know the saying Love is Love? Well Hate is Hate.”

Meanwhile, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued an official statement, in which she called the comment "vile and vicious."

The fate of 'Full Frontal' is yet to be known, however as of now, it looks like TBS will have its star's back.
