Sam Smith and Demi Lovato have teased a collaboration on April 12 with a likely reveal soon. Much to fans glee, the two pop stars shared a brief Twitter interaction teasing the possible duet.

Following a tease on April 11 with a GIF of both pop stars' initials, Smith opened the Tweet convo with "YOU READY," tagging Lovato, to which she responded with "I'M READY". There is a possibility of the collaboration being revealed on April 13.

Firstly, Scooter Braun responded to the exchange between the two with "This week!! #SamxDemi." And secondly, Smith added another tweet several hours later with a short clip of them in their garden, saying "I have an announcement tomorrow. Happy Easter" and blowing a kiss at the camera. Lovato also responded, saying, "Tomorrow".

It may come as no surprise to many that the two pop stars are fans of each other. Apart from Lovato stating before that she is "dying to collaborate" with Smith, she sang a cover of 'Too Good at Goodbyes', the lead single from Smith's second studio album, 'The Thrill of It All' at a BBC 1 Radio 1 Lounge session in 2017.

Smith noticed Lovato's pitch-perfect cover and praised it on social media. According to Billboard, he tweeted, "YES @ddlovato ❤️ SAAAAAAANG IT." Sam Smith and Demi Lovato fans are rejoicing as the wait for a musical collaboration between the two pop stars is almost over.

The superstar singers didn't reveal a specific date for the song's release, but Lovato's manager, Scooter Braun, retweeted the exchange, adding, "This week!! #SamxDemi."

Smith also shared a note on social media in March, informing fans that he would be pushing the release date of his third album from May 1 to a later date, and renaming the release, which was originally titled 'To Die For'.

"There will be an album this year, I promise!" he wrote. "But until then, I am still going to bring out some new music over the next few months, which I'm incredibly excited about."

Fans on Twitter are more than eager to hear the collaboration with a stream of comments saying they are ready. "Drop the song already," said fan while another said, "I'VE NEVER BEEN MORE READY @ddlovato @samsmith".

One fan said,  "Spilling the quarantea" in reaction to the tease. A fan reacted to the timely news for the Easter holidays saying, "ahhh it's coming and on easter omg." Other comments included "can't wait any longer" and "I have waited for this collaboration for a LONG time. THIS IS MY MOMENT, I LOVE YOU."
