'Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones' Episode 4 Review: Amelia's hard work pays off as flyers lead her to Luther
Spoiler alert for 'Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones' Episode 4
There's no dearth of mystery on Facebook Watch's anthology series 'Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones'. Be it for the exceptional portrayal of a troubled teenager through Elsie (Jordan Alexander) or the strange obsession of a frustrated telemarketer Amelia Harper (Juliette Lewis), the series has struck the right chord with the viewers.
While Episode 3 made several crucial revelations, 'Family Portrait' takes deep dives into the lives of its characters, offering further intriguing details.
'Family Portrait' shows Peter (Ryan Kwanten) visiting his childhood home after escaping the cops from Shannon’s (Kristen Bauer). Although his father is ecstatic about his son/s return after years, Peter isn't as excited as the house triggers in him deeply buried memories which he is not willing to revisit.
The episode also gives us a glimpse of his mother, Elsie Kingston, who succumbed to liver cancer.
Meanwhile, Lily's (Kimiko Glenn) expertise in genealogy traces Elsie's roots, which reveals that her ancestors belonged from different continents and origins. Elsie is content about the fact that she isn't alone and she has thousands of blood relatives scattered across the world.
Amelia receives a call from Luther, the owner of the land where Cherry Falls dead bodies were found. She insists on doing the investigation on her own but Elsie forced herself into it saying she is connected to Peter and has all the rights to be involved in it.
Much to our surprise, on Elsie and Amelia's arrival at Cherry Falls, we learn that Luther is the photographer who got stabbed in the eye by Peter.
However, he upfront refuses to identify the Jane Doe sisters blaming it on his Alzheimer's. Just when Amelia begins to lose hope as the visitation fails to avail her, Elsie stumbles upon a few lewd pictures of the Jane Doe sisters.
Meanwhile, Peter's flashbacks reveal that his proximity with one of the sisters led to a brawl between the siblings which leads to the younger one going missing in the woods. This could possibly be the last time she was seen alive before her mysterious death.
'Family Portrait' ends by introducing us to Luther, who comes across as a potential suspect in the Cherry Falls Jane Doe case, and presents Peter in a different light, leaving us stricken as we try to get our heads around all the suspense 'Sacred Lies: The Singing Bones' has thrown our way.
