After a successful first season run, 'Sacred Games' is all set to woo viewers with a fresh season that explores the connection between Gaitonde and Guruji. Meanwhile, Sartaj needs to act quick and try to avert the danger looming over the city of Mumbai.

Based on Vikram Chandra's 2006 novel of the same name, the show features actors like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte. The show has reportedly been shot extensively across Mombasa (Kenya), Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Release date

The show is all set to release on Netflix on August 15, 2019.

Plot

In the first season, Mumbai gangster Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) got in touch with a failed cop Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) and warned him about a threat looming over the city. While Sartaj tried to reach out to him, the show explored Gaitonde's past as he rose to power in the underworld, but kept the mystery of how came to be found dead in a bunker right in the middle of the city.

Sartaj tries to unravel the mystery that he has left behind for him. That season ended with a cliffhanger, where Sartaj finds Gaitonde’s locked room. While in season one we knew there would be some sort of a bomb blast in the city, but the trailer seems to have confirmed our worst fears. Netflix unveiled a short description for the show that reads: "Ganesh Gaitonde's story has only just begun. Thirteen days gone, Bombay has twelve left. This game isn't quite over."
