She also spoke of how she is related to Tamisha but that was also a long time ago. Both remember each other fondly, but they are not related any longer. LaLa confirmed that she reunited with her drag mother only when they began filming for the show. "It was cool! It was cool to not only have somebody else from Atlanta but someone that I had personal ties to." "Had" being the operative word here.
In Episode 1, LaLa Ri ruled with her 'When I Grow Up' (Pussycat Dolls) lip-sync. She was confident from the start and knew her way around the stage. It also helped that Denali was in her ice skates, which restricted her movement. She also promptly admitted to it in her confessional, saying she can lip-sync but not while figure-skating.
