NEVER EXPLAIN, NEVER COMPLAIN: Why royal family 'declined to comment' on allegations in 'Harry & Meghan'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The highly awaited and controversial docuseries Harry & Meghan' has just dropped on Netflix. The first three episodes of the show discussed Megxit, racism, romance, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's new life in California. According to the series, the royal family declined to respond to any of the accusations made in 'Harry & Meghan'.
Episode one started with Prince Harry and his wife Meghan filming themselves on the day they officially ended their royal duty in March 2020. Harry was seen at Heathrow Airport before emigrating. On the other hand, Meghan was captured breaking down in the first scene saying, "I don't even know where to begin." The series has leveled several allegations against the royal family. The Duchess of Sussex revealed that she and her mother had to face a lot of media backlash as the press continuously speculated about her background. Meghan's mother Doria Ragland said, "They would take pictures of different parts of say Skid Row and say that is where I lived and that is where she was from." When Meghan asked for "protection" from the palace, she was advised, "Don't say anything."

'Harry & Meghan': Royal family 'declined to comment' on allegations
'Harry & Meghan' opens with the words, "This is a first-hand account of Harry & Meghan's story, told with never before seen personal archive. All interviews were completed by August 2022. Members of the royal family declined to comment on the content within this series." The show's insistence that interviews were completed before August made it clear filming concluded before the Queen's death. Besides, the streaming giant's claim that the royal family declined to make a comment has also raised eyebrows.
As of now, there has not been any official statement made by the royal household. However, it is speculated that with the buzz the show's release has created, there will certainly be some statements issued in the coming future.
Daily Mail reported the royal family believed that the series will be "slim on new revelations." It was further understood that Netflix offered the royal members a right to reply. However, Buckingham and Kensington Palace maintain that they have not been approached by the streaming giant in this regard.
