Spoilers for 'Roadkill' Season 1 Episode 3

Phew, what an episode! In the penultimate instalment of PBS' 'Roadkill', Peter Laurence (Hugh Laurie) is forced into a confrontation with his family. His affair with Madeleine Halle (Sidse Babett Knudsen) is no longer secret and his youngest daughter, Lily (Millie Brady) called for a family meeting to ask him very stern questions. And so ensues a dramatic sequence of internal family affairs that is a very interesting addition to a political thriller. Peter Laurence, hot from his libel case victory and a promotion to Justice Minister, is currently not so popular at home.

His affairs outside of his home are also rushing out of the closet. The illegitimate daughter in prison, Rose (Shalom Brune-Franklin), that association in Washington, and his past as a landlord - everything is threatening to take him down.

Prime Minister Dawn Ellison (Helen McCrory), who is also soon to find herself in some very deep trouble, is also no friend of Peter's, and he is very well aware of that. How this relationship develops is to be seen.

According to the official synopsis of the upcoming episode, Peter is going to try grabbing the opportunity that comes it's way. "As Dawn's premiership falters, Peter makes a move for the top spot. But with his enemies circling, he is forced to risk one final roll of the dice". If you read closely enough, you can see a little twist that is just around the corner. And if you join the dots of the last three episodes, maybe, just maybe you might guess what is coming. But if anyone asks, we didn't give you spoilers.

In the finale episode, we will see what happens next with Peter Laurence. In the real world, a man and minister like Peter Laurence will in all probability walk scott-free from scandals shown in the show. The news will go on and on about it for a few days, but sooner or later, it all dies down.

But this is television, so we can expect some idealism. Perhaps this will be the end of Peter Laurence?

The finale episode of 'Roadkill' will air on November 22, 2020, at 9 PM.
