Spoiler alert for 'Riverdale' Season 4 Episode 11: 'Chapter Sixty-Eight: Quiz Show'

While fans continue to ship Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) as the best detective couple there is, there was a little storm in the "Bughead" paradise in 'Riverdale's' recent episode. Titled 'Quiz Show,' we'd say that the majority of the episode focused on mini-narratives on the characters that we needed so badly. The actual intellectual competition involving a Quiz Show Championship between Stonewall Prep and Riverdale High took a small part of the episode towards the end.

Jughead seems to be living the life with a successful yet creepy induction into Stonewall's Quill and Skull secret society, winning the Baxter Brothers contract to write his first novel and getting accepted into Yale. Having been called in by the "brotherhood" to discuss a new mystery involving a serial killer for his upcoming novel, Jughead also has to deal with Betty unable to understand why she did not get accepted into Yale. With seconds to conspire inspiration from thin air, Jughead chose to take the advice of Francis DuPont (Malcolm Stewart) and pick up the motivation for his writing from real-life eerie events.

If you've followed 'Riverdale,' you'd know that it is the "murder capital". On that note, you must remember The Black Hood? Hal Cooper (Lochlyn Munro), Betty's father, happened to be a serial killer who was on a mission to wipe out the town's sinners. A vigilante in his own right, he put the town and his family through hell that took more than one season to bury. Faced with an obvious hit storyline and the "brotherhood's" obliviousness to the disclaimer "based on true life events", Jughead pitches "The Brown Hood" narrative as his first novel for the Baxter Brother Franchise.

His pitch would unearth buried PTSD for sure, but also bring back the dark part of Riverdale that is well-forgotten following the death of The Black Hood. Betty not only finds out that Jughead got into Yale and his pitch was pretty much capitalizing on her trauma but also the reason why Yale didn't accept the 4.1 GPA student. Charles, Betty's half brother and an FBI agent, help her find out the reason behind her rejection letter to the Ivy League dream. Yale didn't want to accept the daughter of The Black Hood.

Her father on whose twisted brain she once relied on to decode criminal minds, has managed to ruin her future even in death. With one chance to redeem her opportunity to leave 'Riverdale', she takes on Bret at the Quiz Show Championship, only to have her win revoked. Her mother, Alice Cooper (Mädchen Amick), in an attempt to wipe blood off the family's hands and leave her husband's dark deeds behind, tried to help her daughter by stealing the answers to the quiz. Of course, Betty won fair and square, but Yale doesn't believe her.

Riverdale airs on Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
