Rihanna won't get paid for her internet-breaking Super Bowl LVII halftime performance
GLENDALE, ARIZONA: Pop star Rihanna will not be getting paid for her sensational Super Bowl half-time performance on Sunday, February 12, where she revealed her second pregnancy with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky. The 'Work' hitmaker graced the stage after declining the invitation on several occasions. It is believed that around 200 million people watched the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, making it most likely Rihanna's biggest audience she will ever play to during her career.
Stars such as Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Justin Timberlake, and Coldplay have also performed during the prime slot. Thus, one might believe that the gig brings in a big pay cheque. However, performers never receive any money for their show. The stars perform for free for customary reasons because of the fact they are playing to the biggest audience of their career, which makes a significant impact on their sales. Artists such as Lady Gaga saw her album and single sales rocket by 1,000% following her set in 2017. Meanwhile, JLo garnered 2.3 million new followers across her social media platforms after taking the stage along with Shakira in 2020. Another instance was Dr. Dre seeing an increase of 183% in his album sales following his performance with Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and 50 Cent in 2022.

Rihanna announced her second pregnancy with A$AP Rocky
During her epic performance, the nine-time Grammy Award winner surprised fans with a growing baby bump and revealed that she is pregnant with her second child. The two have kept a low profile since then and have not shared the name of their child.
'I’m three months postpartum'
The ‘Wild Thoughts’ hitmaker, before her performance, told Apple Music's Nadeska Alexis that she had been hesitant to sign on to the performance because she had recently given birth. "I was like, 'You sure? I’m three months postpartum. Should I be making major decisions like this right now? I might regret this,'" she said, as per The Hollywood Reporter. "When you become a mom, there’s something that just happens where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything," the singer continued. "And the Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, so as scary as that was … there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all. It’s important for my son to see that," she added.
