Rihanna spends $21M on LA penthouse once owned by Matthew Perry before second child with A$AP Rocky
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rihanna seems to be indulging in making sure everything is perfect before the arrival of her baby! Rihanna who is pregnant with her second child with her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, bought the 40th-floor penthouse in the same building where she already has a three-bedroom, 3,500-square-foot home. The singer will live there with her long-time partner, Rocky, and their infant son, whose name she has not yet made public.
The 35-year-old singer who is expecting her second child purchased a massive condo that was once owned by 'Friends' star Matthew Perry. The new residence is "more than double the size of her previous one, spanning a whopping 9,290 square feet with four bedrooms and six-and-a-half baths," as per Architectural Digest.

'Southern California's priciest condo sale'
From the high $28 million asking price, Rihanna was able to haggle it down to $21 million, which is $600,000 less than what the property's owner, Afterpay co-founder Nick Molnar, paid the 53-year-old 'Friends' star for it in 2021. Perry reduced the price of the lavish apartment next to opulent Beverly Hills by $8 million to $27 million before selling it to Afterpay co-founder Nick Molnar for $21.6 million, reports DailyMail.com.
The penthouse is reported to be Southern California's most expensive condo sale since 2015. A source also noted that Perry lived in the house for almost as long as it took him to sell it. The penthouse was purchased by the author of 'Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing' in 2017 for $20 million.
Features of the opulent penthouse
With four patios and magnificent views of Los Angeles and its surroundings, including the DTLA skyline and the Pacific Ocean, the property has four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and other amenities. The 2010-built Century is a gated building that welcomes celebrities and has 24-hour concierge services and top-notch security.
A huge pool with cabanas, a cutting-edge fitness center, a movie theater, private wine storage, and many other features round out the list of amenities. The kitchen features a substantial bar area with space for at least five people, and at least two of the bedrooms have infinite 360-degree views of the City of Angels.
The apartment transforms into the ideal gathering place with an abundance of seating areas. This property is suited for a celebrity owing to the expansive terrace areas, which lend that final touch of quality. Due to her lingerie and beauty brands, Rihanna is one of the wealthiest women in the world, thus the high price tag won't put much of a dent in her finances.
How did Rihanna become world's one of the wealthiest women?
Rihanna came in at number 2002 on Forbes' list of billionaires with an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion, as per Daily Mail. The only lady in the line-up under the age of 40 was the 'Umbrella' hitmaker. After Oprah Winfrey, Rihanna is the second richest female entertainer in the world and the first female artist to reach the billion-dollar milestone in 2021.
According to reports, the pop sensation makes the most of her wealth from her partnership with French luxury goods company LVMH, which is reportedly worth $2.8 billion, and her 50% ownership in the highly successful cosmetics line Fenty Beauty.
This, along with her $270 million investment in her enormously popular Savage X Fenty lingerie business, as well as the money she has garnered through her 16-year recording career as a chart-topping singer and actor, make up the hitmaker's enormous riches.
