Matthew Perry's LA Penthouse up for grabs at $27M, a look at the glamorous 40th-floor 'mansion in the sky'
Matthew Perry's Los Angeles penthouse is now up for sale at $27 million. The 51-year-old star had bought the property in 2017
Ever imagined a dream house that has lavish furniture and extensive luxuries and comfort? 'Friends' actor Matthew Perry’s Los Angeles penthouse is now up for sale and it boasts of such opulence and a lot more. The breath-taking penthouse, which was originally listed last year at $35 million, has now been relisted and hit the market for $27 million.
The 51-year-old star bought the property in 2017, which sits on the 40th floor of The Century — a 42-story, luxury condominium in downtown Los Angeles. Matthew bought the modern apartment for $20 million and hoped to sell it for $35 million. However, after nearly a year on the market, he has now reduced the price to $27 million in a bid to help it sell.
The spacious full-floor penthouse is an epitome of modern style. It has enormous rooms — a living room with two fireplaces and a huge master suite with multiple living areas. It exudes class and spans across 9,318 square feet with four bedrooms and eight bathrooms, along with a game room and home theatre. The beautiful property also offers panoramic views that stretch all the way from Downtown LA and Santa Monica across to the Pacific Ocean.
The kitchen has an island seating as well as a table for casual dining and a separate dining room with glass walls highlighting the views. Four terraces are perfect for entertaining and dining. The terraces provide a plethora of private outdoor space. Not to mention, the unique round floor plan that offers stunning 360-degree views of the city all around. From the penthouse, you can look at the downtown skyline, the ocean, the iconic Hollywood sign, and parts of Bel-Air and Beverly Hills.
The '17 Again' actor’s house has a long list of impressive amenities including a 75-foot-long swimming pool, screening room, yoga and Pilates studios as well as a wine-storage facility. It also has 24-hour security, a valet, doorman and concierge. Perry spent nearly two years renovating it with the help of architect Scott Joyce and interior designer LM Pagano. The penthouse takes up the entire 40th floor of the Century building and is even referred to as a "mansion in the sky".
The interiors of the extravagant and baroque penthouse boast a bold color palette and velvet and plush pieces accent the home throughout. The building rises above four acres of lush private gardens and also has a gym and spa. Designed by Robert AM Stern Architects in 2009, Century attracted a slew of celebrities including Paula Abdul, Elizabeth Berkle, Rihanna and Candy Spelling, the widow of filmmaker Aaron Spelling, who bought the top two floors.
Best known for his role as Chandler Bing in the insanely popular sitcom 'Friends', Perry has continued to act in television, film and on stage. One of his projects included a two-part miniseries starring as Ted Kennedy in the production of 'The Kennedys: After Camelot'. Perry has appeared in major films including 'The Whole Nine Yards' and '17 Again' as well as co-developing and starring in the CBS sitcom 'The Odd Couple'.
Apart from his acting talent, Perry is an active philanthropist and opened a sober living home for addicts to help them transition from rehab to regular life called Perry House in Malibu.
