NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The Real Housewives of New York City' Season 14 Reboot premiered with a whole new group of Housewives stepping into the long-running franchise after Bravo decided to scrap its previous cast and start over. 'RHONY' Reboot debut featured fresh energy to the show, with updated music and graphics giving it a sparkly new shine alongside ladies with bold and independent personalities, who were hired to represent the diversity of the Big Apple.

However, as the episode progressed, the format of the series felt all too familiar, with conflicts settling around minor misunderstandings and party etiquette slips. The drama heated up during a gathering as Brynn shared that she heard Erin had a problem with Sai.

'RHONY' Reboot cast members fight over 'cheese' and 'restaurant'

In the premiere episode of the 'RHONY' Reboot, feud fueled up over 'cheese' and 'restaurant'. Erin admitted in the confessional that she and the girls wanted to get together for dinner. As it was a large group, nothing was available last minute, so she picked the restaurant that once used to be the hottest place in New York. However, Erin further noted that Sai and Brynn ditched the group dinner, and then they posted on Instagram that they were at Casa Cipriani. Erin noted, "And it's hurtful. I think it's just a very obnoxious thing to do." Brynn and Sai, for their part, seemed unapologetic about their decision while discussing it with Jessel. The conflict over a restaurant soon brought up another one, in which Brynn had apparently heard that Erin was "distancing herself from Sai because Sai rubbed her a little bit wrong" when she criticized Erin for having cheese on her charcuterie board.

Brynn recalled during Jenna's girls' night, "Supposedly Sai goes, 'Oh, you eat cheese?' And Erin's like, 'Is that not cool or chic or something?' And supposedly Sai goes, 'That's weird.'" Sai clarified in a confessional, "For the record, I did not say, 'Cheese, that's weird.' I know I didn't because I ate it! I remember eating the cheese more than anybody else!" Sai also insisted she actually ate more cheese than the other ladies. Sai further noted that she and Erin have similar friends but Erin always argues or is mad at someone. Sai added, "So now it’s starting to seem like Erin is the common denominator here." Sai also brought her husband, David, into the cheese fold, describing how Brynn told her Erin is 'distancing herself' from Sai after the alleged charcuterie offense.

'If they fight over cheese then just wait till they’re on vacation'

The fights over minor topics like 'cheese' and 'restaurant' received backlash from 'RHONY' Reboot viewers. A social media fan tweeted, "The restaurant thing was so cringe. And low rent to do that to any NYC biz." Another viewer noted, "Not them complaining about a restaurant being 2005/2006. So far not impressed..." Another person said, "#rhony I'm sure all of these women have fulfilling lives... I just wish we could see them instead of stupid arguments over cheese. Pandemic should have made people take stock of life and not be so petty." Another critic added, "All this cheese. I'm sure this group is constipated." Another Twitter user penned, "This is the most immature get-to-know you cheese party ever. It’s like high school." Another user wrote, "They’ve been talking about cheese for 45 minutes, and I still have no idea what was said."
