When LuAnn De Lesseps decided to embrace sobriety all the housewives came forward to extend their support to her, except her dear friend, Dorinda Medley. To this date, Dorinda refuses to believe that LuAnn is an alcoholic. In the latest episode of ‘Real Housewives of New York’, when LuAnn expresses her struggles with staying sober while all her fellow housewives are getting drunk, instead of empathizing with her friend, Dorinda says she doesn’t think LuAnn was ever an alcoholic.

In her confessional, Dorinda can be heard saying that she has known LuAnn for a very long time and went drinking together. She reminisces the past, saying she misses the old Lu. According to her, LuAnn has gone through a lot in the past few years, which might have pushed LuAnn onto the path of sobriety, but it has nothing to do with her being alcoholic.

Fans were disappointed to hear Dorinda be so unsupportive of her struggling friend. Several fans pointed out that she too is an alcoholic like LuAnn, the only difference being LuAnn is aware of her problem and working on it, while Dorinda is busy “gaslighting” everybody. A fan tweeted, “#RHONY that's right Dorinda, LuAnn isn't a drunk. You are. In every episode. Every. Episode. Thank f**k for subtitles. So filled with rage.”

Another fan shared, “Of course Dorinda doesn’t think Luann is an alcoholic. Denial likes friends.  #rhony.”

“Dorinda is very sure that LuAnn isn’t an alcoholic even though she got arrested b/c of alcohol, was unable to quit drinking even though her freedom depended on it, and needed a couple of interventions and stints in rehab to get it together. #RHONY,” pointed out a fan.

Another fan wrote, “Dorinda still doesn't see that both she and LuAnn are alcoholics! What's it going to take to convince her? #RHONY #RHONYC #RealHousewivesofNewYork.”

“Watching the #RHONY women gaslight about alcohol is really triggering. The truth is Dorinda and Sonja have the same problem LuAnn does, so they are not supportive of her sobriety. If she has a problem, they KNOW they do. #Bravo, I don't know...is this entertainment?” expressed a fan.

‘Real Housewives of New York’ Season 12 airs every Thursday at 9/8c only on Bravo.
