'RHONY' fans slam Brynn Whitfield for making 'divorce' joke during Erin Lichy's vow renewal with Abraham

Brynn Whitfield apparently became a little too friendly and flirtatious with Erin Lichy's husband during the event

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'The Real Housewives of New York City' star Erin Dana Lichy has gotten into a beef with Brynn Whitfield and fans feel she has every right to be due to the latter's apparent flirtations with Abraham Lichy aka Abe. 

On the August 27 episode, the 36-year-old reality star revealed that she was dissatisfied with how Brynn behaved during her 10th anniversary celebration.

Erin also said that a group's activity rubbed her in the wrong way when her sister Kelley Yitzhari Bielsky informed her that they were talking during the couple's toast.

The last straw for Erin was Abraham's revelation that Brynn, who is single, had joked that the pair weren't officially married because they didn't exchange vows during their original wedding ceremony.

She apparently also joked with Abraham about going to her in case he and Erin divorced.  

Despite thinking the comments were "weird" considering "the setting," Abe acknowledged laughing when Brynn first made the joke.

"It really pisses me off," admitted Erin in a confessional, adding, "She came in. She started some s**t. She said rude things to my husband. She wore sunglasses the whole time. Then she walked out. Sometimes she doesn't have tact, and it really pisses me off."

She also chastised Abe for thinking it was "kind of funny at the time."

"I don’t know why you’re laughing, I’m, like, disgusted," explained Erin, continuing, "How is it funny that she’s joking that you should be f---ing around? I'm, like, sick to my stomach. I just don't even know how I'm supposed to be in the same room as her."

On X (formerly Twitter), 'RHONY' fans posted their opinions regarding the issue.

One wrote, "So, Brynn flirting with Erin’s husband and repeatedly mentioning divorce at their vow renewal is fine because everyone knows Brynn is a flirt?"

"Brynn could’ve been joking with Abe, but Erin is allowed to not like the joke. Sometimes your jokes just aren’t funny," said another.  

"No one can tell Erin how to feel about HER HUSBAND. Brynn & Sai are some rude a$$ heffas. I hate the “that’s just how they are” excuse. Idgaf, Don’t be yourself with someone’s man/husband. Grow up," remarked one more. 

An astonished fan asked, "So everyone is excusing Brynn flirting with Erin’s husband because she “loves to flirt”???"

"Gonna have to side with Erin on this. Brynn was doing too much and i guarantee if she had did that with Sai and Jessel’s husbands they would have been been livid too instead of giving it a pass," expressed a fan who is clearly over Brynn's behavior. 

Another person said, "So I do think Erin is overall easily offended but I don’t think Brynn’s “joke” was appropriate in that setting," about the situation. 

Erin Lichy wants to 'ruin' Brynn Whitfield's wreath-making party

In another scene from the episode, Erin announces her plans to attend Brynn's wreath-making party with a grudge, declaring, "I want to ruin her party, just like she ruined mine."

After confronting Sai De Silva for departing without saying goodbye, Erin turned her attention to Brynn and chastised her for crossing the line with her divorce joke to Abe.

"Do you think it's normal to do that?" she asked Brynn, adding, "You said, ‘Wow, so you’re not actually married because at your first wedding, you didn't actually say vows.’ And then, ‘You said whenever you're ready to get divorced, please let me know.'"

"I don't care if it's a joke to bring up divorce with my husband at my 10-year anniversary party," remarked Erin.

As things heated up, Sai referred to the two women as "grinches," and claimed they were ruining the festive atmosphere. "It’s not a big deal," confessed Sai, adding, "We all know Brynn loves to flirt. That's what she does. Does she really want your husband?"

In her own chat, Jessel Taank said, "I know women that are out to get your husband, and this was not that moment."

Brynn was not amused by Erin's assertions and told her that if she continued to "accuse me of flirting with a married man, things are really going to get real. When Erin inquired what she was doing if she wasn't "flirting with him," she paused for a bit before informing her that her party was "boring."

This was too much for Erin, who left the party and contacted Kelley to reiterate her argument. "This is the difference between Brynn and most of my friends," said Erin, along with, "Brynn digs her heels. She doesn't take ownership. She can't apologize and move on."

Who is Erin Dana Lichy?

Erin Dana Lichy spent several years as a realtor before launching her own restoration and interior design firm, Homegirl, in 2019. She also appears to be a Douglas Elliman agent in New York City. 

Abraham and Erin tied the knot in 2012, and the couple recently celebrated their 10-year anniversary, renewing their vows.

Brynn Whitfield is a 36-year-old marketing and communications professional from the Midwest. She is now single, although she maintains strong relationships with all of her prior lovers, including Gideon, her third ex-fiance, whom she mentions on 'RHONY'.

She is currently picturing life with a spouse and children, something she did not have as a youngster.
